💔 失去亲人已经让人心碎，但如果没有遗嘱，家人要管理已故配偶的资产会变得更加复杂和艰难。

如果没有遗嘱，留下的配偶需要经历以下步骤才能申请遗产管理书（LOA）：

步骤一：
配偶必须亲自前往遗产规划律师事务所，申请遗产管理书（LOA），才能管理已故配偶的资产。这一法律流程在悲伤之中更添压力。

步骤二：
如果有未满21岁的孩子，配偶不能单独申请LOA，必须找到一位共同管理人（Co-administrator）共同承担责任。共同管理人还可能需要一直协助管理遗产，直到孩子年满21岁，这是一项长期且沉重的负担。

步骤三：
配偶还需找到两位担保人。例如，已故配偶的总资产（包括房产）价值100万，每位担保人也必须拥有至少100万的资产。只有完成以上三步，才能正式申请LOA。

💔 Losing a loved one is already heartbreaking. But without a Will, managing their assets becomes even more complicated and stressful for the family left behind.

Here’s what the surviving spouse must go through to apply for Letters of Administration (LOA) if there’s no Will:

Step 1:
The surviving spouse must visit an estate planning law firm to apply for Letters of Administration (LOA) just to manage the deceased spouse’s assets. This legal process can be overwhelming during an already difficult time.

Step 2:
If there are children under 21, the surviving spouse cannot apply for LOA alone. They must find a Co-administrator to share the responsibility. This Co-administrator may have to help manage the estate until the children turn 21, which can be a heavy and long-term burden.

Step 3:
The spouse must also find two guarantors. For example, if the deceased’s assets (including property) are worth $1 million, each guarantor must also have at least $1 million in assets. Only after fulfilling all three steps can the LOA application proceed.

😔 All these steps add stress and uncertainty at the worst possible time. But there’s a simple way to avoid all this hassle:
Make a Will.
