It’s been 6 months since I started running in my zero-drop minimalist running shoes. Started out with just 1-2km short runs, getting used to a new running style and taking shorter strides. Slowly built distance and pace. I really started enjoying the feeling of my feet being in contact with the ground and of my feet and toes gripping the earth. I also could feel my feet getting stronger, and a whole different set of muscles being used and developed. Quite addictive actually. To date, no injuries and as of the past few weeks I am now running at the same speed as I used to when wearing my running shoes. Cadence is up from 155 to 165 though. Interestingly, I no longer like wearing my work shoes and have moved to zero-drop shoes for day to day wear as well. It’s like swimming without a wetsuit, you feel so much more in tune with your surroundings. My advice it to take is slow and steady, and expect quite a few months of a reduced pace. Glutes feel stronger, posture has changed and my feet feel stronger too. Maybe not for everyone but for me, a very positive and permanent transition .

Keto BasicsAs a rule, the keto diet is low in carbohydrates, high in fat and moderate in protein. When following a keto diet...
