Active Global ရဲ့အကြောင်းကိုသူငယ်ချင်းတစ်ယောက်ဆီကနေတဆင့်ကျွန်မစပြီးကြားဖူးခဲ့တာပါ။ အလုပ်ရဖို့အတွက် Active Global ကို အခကျေးငွေ ပေးစရာမလိုဘူးဆိုတဲ့အချက်က ကျွန်မအဖို့ ပိုပြီး စိတ်အားထက်သန်ခဲ့တာပေါ့။ ၂၀၂၀ ခုနှစ်မှာ Active Global နဲ့ ဆက်သွယ်ဆောင်ရွက်ဖို့ ကျွန်မ ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက်ချလိုက်ပါတယ်။ အမှန်ကန်ဆုံးပြုလုပ်မိတဲ့ ကိစ္စတခုပါပဲ။

ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့ စောင့်ရှောက်ဝန်ဆောင်မှုပေးခဲ့ရတဲ့ ပထမဦးဆုံးလူနာဟာ အသက် (၈၂) နှစ်ရှိပြီဖြစ်တဲ့ အဖွားအိုတဦးပါပဲ။ သူ့ခမျာ သူငယ်ပြန်ချင်သလိုမျိုး ဦးနှောက်ချွတ်ယွင်းအားနည်းမှုအပြင် ဆီးချိုရောဂါပါ ရှိနေခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ကျွန်မရဲ့တာဝန်က အဲဒီအဖွားအိုရဲ့နေ့စဉ်လုပ်ငန်းဆောင်တာတွေကို ကူညီ‌ထောက်မ လုပ်ကိုင်ပေးဖို့ပါပဲ။ အရေးအကြီးဆုံးကတော့ အဖွားရဲ့နိစ္စဒူဝ အဖော်မွန် လုပ်ပေးဖို့ပါပဲ။ အဲဒီကာလအတွင်းမှာ အဖွားဟာ သူ့ရဲ့ခြေထောက်ကို ခွဲစိတ်ကုသမှု ခံယူခဲ့ရပါတယ်။ ဆေးရုံကဆင်းလို့ အိမ်ကို သူ ပြန်လာရတဲ့အခါ ကျွန်မက သူ့ရဲ့ခြေထောက်ဒဏ်ရာကို သန့်ရှင်းရေးလုပ်တာ ပတ်တီးလဲပေးတာ စတဲ့ ပြုစုစောင့်ရှောက်မှုတွေကို လုပ်ဆောင်ပေးခဲ့ရပါတယ်။ နေ့စဉ်မှန်မှန် ပြုစုသန့်စင် ဆေးထည့်ပေးခဲ့ရတာဟာ သူ့ရဲ့ဒဏ်ရာ လုံးလုံးလျားလျား ပျောက်ကင်းအနာကျက်သွားသည်အထိ ပါပဲရှင်။

အဖွားရဲ့ကြွက်သားတွေ မချို့ယွင်းအောင် တစ်နေ့ကိုနှစ်ကြိမ် လွယ်ကူရိုးစင်းတဲ့ လေ့ကျင့်ခန်းတွေလုပ်ဖြစ်အောင် ကျွန်မက ဦးဆောင်လုပ်ပြပေးရပါတယ်။ အဲဒီလိုလုပ်ပေးရင်း အဖွားဟာ တဖြည်းဖြည်းချင်း သူ့ခွန်အားတွေပြန်လည်ရရှိလာတာ၊ ကျန်းမာရေးအခြေအနေ တိုးတက်ကောင်းမွန်လာတာတွေကို မြင်ရတော့ ကျွန်မရင်ထဲမှာ အတိုင်းမသိဝမ်းသာလိုက်တာရှင်။ ဆန္ဒတွေ ပြီးပြည့်စုံသွားသလိုပါပဲ။

အခက်အခဲတွေနဲ့ကြုံရတဲ့ စိတ်ညစ်စရာအခိုက်အတန့်‌တွေလည်း ရှိတာပေါ့။ အဖွားက ဦးနှောက်ကျန်းမာရေးချို့ယွင်းနေရှာတော့ ရန်ဖန်ရံခါမှာ ဘာမှမဟုတ်တာလေးနဲ့ စိတ်တိုပြီး ဆူဆူပူပူလုပ်တတ်တယ်။ အဲဒီလိုအခါမျိုးကျရင် ကျွန်မက ငါ့ကိုပြဿနာရှာနေတာပဲလို့ မတွေးမိအောင် စိတ်ကိုထားတတ်လာတယ်။ အဲဒီလိုတွေးမယ့်အစား အဖွားကို စိတ်အေးချမ်းသာသွားတဲ့အထိ သူတစ်ယောက်တည်း ပေးနေလိုက်တယ်။ တစ်ခါတလေတော့လည်း ရယ်စရာမောစရာတွေ ပြောတဲ့အခါပြော။ "ဟာ တီဗီအရှေ့မှာ ပြနေတဲ့စားစရာတွေက ဘာတွေလဲဟင်" စတဲ့မေးခွန်းလေးတွေမေးပြီး သူ့ကို အာရုံလွှဲပေးလိုက်ရတာပေါ့။

အဲဒီလို ဘာမဟုတ်တဲ့ အာရုံလွှဲမှုလေးတွေဟာ အံ့သြစရာကောင်းလောက်အောင်ကို အလုပ်ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ခဏတစ်ဖြုတ်လောက်ကြာပြီးတာနဲ့ အဖွားဟာ ရယ်ရယ်မောမော ပေါ့ပေါ့ပါးပါး ပြန်ဖြစ်လာတာပါပဲ။ သူ့ရဲ့ကိုယ်ရေးကိုယ်တာတွေနဲ့ အတိတ်ကအတွေ့အကြုံတွေကို ရင်ဖွင့်ပြောပြလာဖော် ရပါတယ်။ သူကွယ်လွန်သွားသည်အထိ ခြောက်နှစ်လုံးလုံး သူနဲ့အတူနေခဲ့ရတဲ့အချိန်ကာလတွေဟာ ကျွန်မအဖို့ တန်ဖိုးကြီးမားတဲ့ ရတောင့်ရခဲအခွင့်အရေးပါပဲ။ အဖွားအိုဟာ ကျွန်မကို သည်းခံနိုင်မှုကိုယ်ချင်းဆန္ဒတတ်မှုနဲ့ မိတ်ဆွေအဖော်သဟဲရဲ့ တကယ့်စစ်မှန်တဲ့တန်ဖိုးတို့ကို နားလည်အောင် သင်ကြားပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ သူပျော်ရွှင်ခံစားခဲ့ရသလို တခြားတခြားသောသက်ကြီးရွယ်အိုတွေကို ပျော်ရွှင်လုံခြုံအောင်ထားဖို့ ချစ်ခြင်းမေတ္တာတရားဖြင့် ပြုစုစောင့်ရှောက်ဖို့ ကျွန်မမှာ မျှော်လင့်မိနေပါတော့တယ်။

I first heard about Active Global through a friend and was encouraged by the fact that there were no agency fees. In 2020, I decided to join – and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made.

My very first client was an 82-year-old Ahma living with dementia and diabetes. My role was to support her daily activities and, most importantly, to be her companion. During my time with her, Ahma underwent leg surgery, and after she returned home, I helped care for her wound – cleaning and dressing it regularly to ensure it healed well. I also guided her through simple exercises twice a day to keep her muscles active. Watching her slowly regain strength and seeing her condition improve brought me immense joy and a deep sense of fulfilment.

There were challenging moments too. Because of her dementia, Ahma would sometimes become easily upset. I learned not to take it personally. Instead, I would give her space to calm down and gently shift her attention – perhaps by sharing a funny story or asking something light like, “What food are they showing on TV now?” These small distractions worked wonders. Over time, she would relax, smile again, and even open up to share her memories and personal stories with me.

Caring for Ahma for six meaningful years until she passed on was a privilege that I will always treasure. She taught me compassion, resilience, and the true value of companionship. I look forward to caring for more seniors and helping them feel safe, happy and loved, just like she did.

Active Global is part of the new special transfer scheme by the Ministry of Manpower (valid from 20 May 2020 onwards).

We will now be able to take over the responsibility of FDWs until we help her to find a new employer. All costs including levy, food & accommodation, medical insurance, repatriation, etc, will be covered by Active Global upon transfer to us.

We only recruit candidates who are trained to eldercare (caregiver certificate, nursing aide certificate, nursing diploma or degree). Active Global never collects money from workers. You will be safe with us and will access free induction trainings, free on-ongoing trainings, and potential for career progression.

I came to Singapore as a domestic helper, and like many helpers, my days were filled with cleaning, cooking, and taking care of the home. But the part that touched my heart the most was caring for my employer’s elderly Ahgong. I helped him bathe, eat, and move around, and most of all, I kept him company so he would not feel lonely. Over time, he became more than just someone I cared for—he felt like family to me.

When Ahgong eventually passed on and my contract ended, I felt a deep emptiness. But I also realised something important—I had found my calling in caring for seniors. I didn’t just want another job; I wanted to continue doing work that had meaning and purpose. That was when I decided to join Active Global.
I chose Active Global because a friend recommended the company, and I had heard good things about how they support caregivers. The free training gave me confidence, even though I already had a nursing certificate. I learned proper tube feeding, stoma care, and many other skills that made me feel more professional and prepared. Knowing there are no agency fees and that accommodation and food allowance are provided also gave me peace of mind to focus fully on my patients.

Today, I am proud to be part of Active Global. Every senior I care for reminds me of Ahgong, and I treat them with the same patience, respect, and love. You will be safe with us and will access free induction trainings, free on-ongoing trainings, and potential for career progression.
