Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) are often associated with crisis situations, but their true value lies in early, preventive support.

EAP can help employees manage stress, emotional fatigue, relationship challenges, and life transitions before issues escalate. Confidential and professional support encourages healthier coping and resilience.

When EAP is normalised as part of everyday wellbeing, organisations create safer and more supportive workplaces.

The start of the year is a natural period for reflection, realignment, and setting expectations, making it an ideal time to introduce mental wellness conversations at the workplace.

Mental wellness talks held early in the year help build shared understanding, normalise conversations around mental health, and equip employees with practical tools before stress escalates.

Proactive support doesn’t just benefit individuals; it strengthens teams and workplace culture for the year ahead. If your team is interested in conducting mental wellness initiatives, feel free to reach us out at 6339 5411 or visit our website at www.scc.sg

New Year’s resolutions often focus on doing more and pushing harder, but mental health goals focus on sustainability and self-compassion.

Instead of setting rigid expectations, consider goals that support your emotional wellbeing, such as setting healthier boundaries, allowing yourself to rest, or asking for help when needed.

Mental health goals aren’t about perfection or pressure, they’re about creating habits that help you cope, grow, and stay well over time.

Choose goals that support you, not exhaust you.

January often comes with pressure to change, improve, and start afresh, but you don’t have to reinvent yourself to move forward.

Growth doesn’t need to be drastic, and progress doesn’t have to be immediate. Sometimes, taking care of your mental wellbeing means slowing down, adjusting gently, and giving yourself permission to be where you are. Small, intentional steps, taken with self-compassion, can still lead to meaningful change.

This January, let progress be kind.

The festive season is often filled with celebrations and connection, but when it ends, it’s not uncommon to feel low, drained, or unsettled.

Changes in routine, increased responsibilities, and emotional fatigue can all contribute to post-festive blues. If this resonates with you, know that you’re not alone and that these feelings are valid.

If low mood or emotional heaviness lingers, reaching out for professional support can help you process what you’re experiencing and regain a sense of balance.

Support is available. You don’t have to navigate this on your own. You can reach us at 6339 5411 or visit our website at www.scc.sg

The holidays are the perfect time to show loved ones you care and what better way than through gifts that promote mental and emotional well-being?

Ideas for Meaningful Self-Care Gifts:

▪️ Journals or Gratitude Notebooks – Encourage reflection and mindfulness.
▪️ Relaxation Kits – Candles, bath salts, aromatherapy, or soothing teas.
▪️ Meditation or Mindfulness Apps – Help them build daily wellness habits.
▪️ Mental Health Books – Knowledge can empower personal growth.
▪️ Wellness Workshops or Courses – Virtual or in-person sessions to learn coping strategies.

These gifts are more than material, they show care, support, and a focus on long-term well-being.

For employers, consider gifting employees sessions or wellness workshops to promote team mental health and resilience heading into 2026.

If you or someone you know could benefit from personalised mental health support, our counsellors at the Singapore Counselling Centre are here to help.

December is often one of the most demanding months for organisations. Between closing annual targets, preparing for audits, planning for the new year, and juggling personal commitments, many employees experience heightened exhaustion and emotional strain. This year-end period is when burnout becomes most common and most overlooked.

Signs of Year-End Burnout You Shouldn’t Ignore:

▪️ Increased fatigue, irritability, or overwhelm
▪️ Decline in motivation or work performance
▪️ Difficulty concentrating or meeting deadlines
▪️ Emotional withdrawal from colleagues
▪️ Feeling “on edge” or mentally drained

A supportive workplace doesn’t just improve morale, it strengthens productivity, team resilience, and long-term retention. At Singapore Counselling Centre, we offer individual counselling and corporate mental wellness programmes to support both employees and organisations through challenging periods. Whether you’re feeling burnt out or you’re an employer concerned about your team, help is available.

Visit our website at www.scc.sg to learn more how we can help.

While the holiday season is often associated with joy, celebration, and connection, many individuals quietly experience Seasonal Blues, a dip in mood that can feel especially heavy during this time of year. This may show up as:

▪️ Feeling unusually tired or low
▪️ Difficulty concentrating or staying motivated
▪️ Increased stress or irritability
▪️ Feeling disconnected even around others
▪️ Pressure from family, finances, or year-end work demands

If you’re experiencing any of these, know that it’s completely valid. Many people struggle with heightened emotions in December, and there is no shame in seeking help. At Singapore Counselling Centre, our trained counsellors provide a safe, confidential space to talk through what you’re experiencing, and help you navigate this season more steadily and healthily.
