Step into a world where spoken words take a back seat and all communication takes place in silence. Set within a photography studio environment, this participatory experience invites attendees to explore the nuances of non-speaking interaction through witnessing the intimate process of portrait photography. Photography participants have the opportunity to have their portraits photographed by Deaf photographer Isabelle Lim (Issy). Each portrait becomes a record of mutual connection. Highlighting the richness of Deaf culture, the experience creates space for introspection and sensory engagement, inviting attendees to immerse themselves in silence, be seen by others, and listen with our eyes.

Meet Fred, a puppet with a lot of personality who’s trying to make sense of a confusing world. Fred just wants to be like everyone else, but being a puppet stands in his way. Being completely dependent on his puppeteers makes things... complicated. Especially when his PLA (Puppetry Living Allowance) is threatened, and one of his puppeteers might be gone!

Fred seems to navigate a world stacked against him. His journey reflects the struggles faced by many, especially those with disabilities, as he tackles paperwork, misunderstandings, and the quest for a normal life. Yet, amid the challenges, Fred discovers surprising moments of joy that light up his path!

Meet Fred tells a story that proves even the smallest among us have the biggest stories to tell. Filled with humour and full of heart, this charming tale is sure to keep you smiling long after the curtain falls.

🎭✨ “Stories of Togetherness” has wrapped up!!

With the support of The Lee Kuan Yew Fund for Bilingualism and in collaboration with Encre8, we were able to bring this interactive bilingual theatre performance to preschools serving children from lower-income backgrounds. 🎉

Through the journey of Clumsysaurus, children were immersed in a fun and heartwarming story about acceptance and inclusivity. 💖

Big thanks to all the participating schools for your support in making this project a success! 🙌

How does one learn to feel natural in an unfamiliar space?

Performer Grace Lee-Khoo, musician Wheelsmith, dancer Nah Jie Ying and puppeteer Regina Foo invite audiences to participate and explore their inner journeys where ever-changing terrains and scenery can hold, hurt and heal us. In particular, the performers – inspired by the exhibition - reflect on their artistic processes which navigate through the slippery, uncharted realm of disability arts.

Inspired by the spaces characterised by liminality and stillness in Charles Lim Yi Yong and Simryn Gill’s The Sea is a Field, desert of the ocean (doldrums) is an accessible 45-min live performance, which features elements of spoken word, live soundscapes, contemporary dance and shadow play. Underpinned by the “aesthetics of access,” an approach to artistic production focused on accessibility, the performance includes sign language interpretation and audio description. Taking place within an industrial portside warehouse, the site-specific performance also invites audiences to engage sensorially with the space.

WHO WE ARE

Every individual is complex and unique, his or her personal lived experiences valuable.

Through theatrical and cultural events produced by Access Path Productions, precious narratives and talents of the marginalised and invisible are carefully and respectfully unearthed while ethically honoured through high-quality artistic representation.

We aim to coordinate and facilitate the provision of community-based care and support via the arts and to enhance the quality of every Singaporean’s cultural life. This is achieved by breaking down social barriers, challenging processes of art making and shaping avant-garde yet truthfully human experiences for and with local audiences.
