Is your child's backpack a heavy burden? 🎒🏫
It’s back-to-school season, and while our kids are busy filling their minds, they’re also filling their backpacks. But did you know a heavy bag can lead to a lifetime of posture issues?
To protect those growing spines and prevent "scholar’s slump," follow the 10% Rule:
A backpack should never weigh more than 10% of a child’s total body weight. (For example, if your child weighs 40 kg, their bag should be 4 kg or less!)
Top Tips for the School Week:
1. Use Both Straps: Wearing it over one shoulder causes the spine to curve and creates muscle imbalance.
2. Tighten the Load: Keep the bag snug against the back, not hanging low by the hips.
3. Heaviest Items First: Pack the heaviest books closest to the center of the back.
Let's make sure our kids are heading to class with a light load and a healthy spine!
