But there is a hidden danger in being so good at coping.

You might forget to stop.

Coping is like holding your breath to dive underwater. Itโ€™s a necessary, short-term skill to get through a tough patch.

Self-abandonment is trying to live underwater permanently.

You are a capable person. You know how to mobilise for the big wars.

But while you are winning the big battles, you are likely bleeding energy fighting against yourself.

Welcome to Week 2 of our series on the High-Functioning Individual.

Today, we'd like to talk about "๐‹๐จ๐ฐ-๐†๐ซ๐š๐๐ž ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ."

This is the specific struggle of the capable person. It isn't a breakdown; itโ€™s a background noise.

๐Ÿ™ Itโ€™s the tension in your neck youโ€™ve had for three weeks.
๐Ÿ™ Itโ€™s the "extra tiredness" you caffeine your way through.
๐Ÿ™ Itโ€™s the small annoyance with your partner that you swallow just to "keep the peace."

Because you are capable, you override these signals. You prioritise the project, the deadline, or the harmony of the household over the signal from your own system.

You normalise the discomfort.

The problem is that suppressing these 'minor aches' work like compound interest. They accumulate.
And what starts as a small signal eventually grows into an insurmountable obstacle: burnout, resentment, or somatic pain.

Not dramatic changes. Not perfection.

๐Ÿ” Small, deliberate actions, repeated consistently, create momentum over time.

A great year is not the result of luck or motivation โœจ
