Humans have existed on earth for more than 10,000 generations, and only the last 5-6 of these generations have spent their time primarily indoors.
The history of evolution is reflected in our genomes, and humans are not built for staying indoors under inadequate artificial lighting.
Science tells us that disruption of the natural circadian rhythm can have short-term effects including memory loss and fatigue. Long-term disruption can lead to immune suppression, obesity, depression, metabolic disorders etc.
