SCHMI First Charity Sharing Event: Permanent Honorary Mr. Ang Chin Koon BBM Donates $110,000 to Our Hospital's Medical Fund
On the afternoon of January 19, 2025, our hospital successfully held a special charity sharing event. Despite continuous rain, the event attracted over 70 guests who braved the weather to attend. Distinguished attendees included Dr. Lim Soon Hock, Charity Ambassador/Independent Director/Permanent Honorary President; Ms. Seow Lee Kian, Permanent Honorary President/Independent Director; TCM Dr. Chng Lak Seng, Honorary President; Mr. Ang Chin Koon BBM, Permanent Honorary President; TCM Dr. Lim Kong Beng, former Vice President of the Chinese Medicine Association; veteran entertainment journalist Ms. Guan Dama, as well as physicians and volunteers. TCM Dr. Liew Siaw Foo, Chairman of SCHMI, also attended the event and presented certificates of appreciation to the two keynote speakers.
The event began with a lecture by our Honorary President and senior TCM practitioner, TCM Dr. Chng Lak Seng. In the antique-inspired waiting hall on the first floor, TCM Dr. Chng delivered an engaging and humorous presentation that delved into the history and unique features of TCM development locally. His vivid storytelling quickly transported the audience into the rich historical tapestry of TCM, marking a memorable opening to the event.
The highlight of the event was the inspirational sharing session by Mr. Ang Chin Koon BBM, founder and CEO of CK Group and Permanent Honorary President of SCHMI. Drawing from his recently published book "笑看风云行善路," Mr. Ang shared valuable insights on philanthropy. During his speech, he generously donated a check for $110,000 to support the development of our clinics’ medical initiatives. This heartfelt gesture moved the audience and earned resounding applause.
The enthusiastic response to this inaugural charity event is truly encouraging! It demonstrates the powerful synergy between TCM culture and philanthropy. We hope to harness this momentum to organize more charity TCM sharing sessions in the future.
