Dear EADMT community,

As the year draws to a close, the Christmas season invites us to pause, reflect, and look ahead together.

We are living in challenging times. Wars continue to affect millions of lives, polarization is growing in many of our societies, and climate-related disasters remind us of how fragile our world can be. And yet, even in this complex global context, our European community remains strong, connected, and resilient.

A clear sign of this strength was our recent conference in Vilnius. It showed that, despite differences in background, culture, or perspective, we are able to come together, exchange ideas openly, and build a shared vision based on cooperation, respect, and solidarity.

This season is a good moment to appreciate that collective spirit, to value the bonds that unite us across borders, and to renew our commitment to working together in the year ahead.

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas season, time to rest and reconnect, and a hopeful start to the new year — with confidence in what we can continue to achieve together.

Rosa, Indra, Terje and Petra

At the beginning of the year we like to reflect upon what has been done in the past year and imagine what could be done this year!

In the field of Dance movement therapy research many theoretical and practical work has been going on and our shared knowledge is becoming more rich and deep.

In the spirit of looking back at the research work that has been done and published, you can read 2024's article Trends in dance/movement therapy research: A bibliometric analysis of publications in the scopus bibliographic and citation information database.

This study by Kristīne Zaščirinska (LV), Sanita Šuriņa (LV), Kristīne Mārtinsone (LV), aims to provide an overview of research trends in dance/movement therapy by identifying the influencing factors of publications and analyzing the research structure. The study analyzed 589 publications retrieved from the Scopus database. Indicators of productivity, impact, and collaboration were determined.

The study is the first bibliometric analysis in dance/movement therapy!
