Did you know some dogs can have a hidden bleeding disorder? 🧬🐾
𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗩𝗜𝗜 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 is a hereditary condition that affects blood clotting.
This protein plays a key role in starting the coagulation process and when it’s not functioning properly, even minor injuries or routine procedures can lead to excessive bleeding.
Symptoms can range from mild to severe, often appearing after trauma or surgery.
The condition is inherited (autosomal recessive), which means dogs can be carriers without showing any signs and still pass it on.

A simple DNA test can accurately identify whether a dog is affected, a carrier, or completely clear.

Each ear is controlled by a network of around 𝟯𝟬 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀, which allows cats to rotate them up to 180 degrees. 🤯 More importantly, they can move each ear 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆. One ear might track a sound behind them, while the other focuses on something in front. This gives them a directional “audio radar” without needing to move their head.

So yes, independent ear rotation isn’t just a quirky trait. It’s a highly evolved sensory system tied directly to survival and communication.
