FROM A VISION ON VRŠIČ (2021) TO TODAY’S REALITY: DRONE DELIVERY IS TAKING OFF

In 2021, ElevonX carried out a pioneering test flight for Pošta Slovenije – delivering a package by drone to the Poštarski dom on Vršič. At the time, it was only a vision of what future logistics could look like.

Four years later, that vision is becoming reality worldwide:

- Autonomous drone deliveries are now operating in other countries, with individual drones completing about 80 deliveries per day.
- Major players are testing drone delivery in the UK and Italy, with pilot programs underway and plans for a future rollout.
- In the U.S. and beyond, one provider has now logged more than 1.4 million successful deliveries using autonomous drones.

Here in Europe, regulation is still catching up, but the trend is undeniable: greener, faster, autonomous logistics is becoming real.

What began on the slopes of Vršič showed where the future was heading. And direction is clear: greener, faster, autonomous logistics is no longer a concept, it’s happening.

Our youngest crew took part in the 2025 National F1N Championship for primary schools – competing in the hand-launch glider category.

They placed 12th and 14th. Well done to both pilots! Keep learning, keep trying, and most of all – keep enjoying the flight:).

(F1N is an official competition class recognized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), dedicated to indoor hand-launched free flight gliders – lightweight, unpowered aircraft designed for maximum airtime.)
