More women in Australia and New Zealand are choosing to freeze their eggs earlier, and the numbers show it. 🇦🇺

In 2023, nearly 9,000 egg collection cycles were performed, up 28% from the previous year, with almost 40% done for non-medical reasons. The average age also dropped from 37 in 2023 to 35 in 2025.

That shift suggests egg freezing is becoming less of a last-minute decision and more of a proactive step in fertility planning. It is important to remember that egg freezing can create more options for the future. 🙌🏻

In an interview with Women’s Health UK, Rita Ora shared that she froze her eggs at 24 and again at 27, after a doctor told her it was a good time to preserve the best-quality eggs. Looking back now, she said it was “actually the best advice.” 🙌🏻

Her decision was also shaped by something deeply personal. Rita explained that her mother went through early menopause after breast cancer treatment, and that experience made her think about fertility earlier and more consciously.

For some people, the option of freezing eggs earlier means more space, more time, and fewer regrets later.
