As a trauma informed yoga therapist I am a big advocate of top down talk therapies but my all-time favourites are the bottom up modalities.⁣ Just like this sound bath experience was.⁣
We brought here our mom with my sisters as a Mother's day surprise to pamper her and obviously ourselves.😋⁣

If you - just like me - have very open and overworkig higher chakras receiving loads of creative Shakti energy, but due to (childhood) traumas cannot contain it with your lower material chakras that would give stability and a sense of safety ... then I highly recommend you to try this out before all those superpowers blow your circuits. ⁣🤯⁣

Hollow Coves • These Memories

18/04/2022

In the 2 weeks of panchakarma therapy this place was my daily Heaven. And these 2 ladies (4 hands are essential - when not for the massage then to take some pics😅) my personal pempering angels.🧚🏾‍♀️💞🧚🏽‍♀️⁣
I have already had some ayurvedic body treatment experiences before ... but I must tell that these two tricked me the most. ⁣
Honestly, I had prejudice of both ... 🙈 ⁣

💆‍♀️Let's talk about 𝗨𝗗𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗠 (or udvardhanam) first.⁣
𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘥𝘳𝘺, 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘮 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺. 𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘳𝘶𝘣𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘣𝘺 𝟸 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴.⁣
Even if I like strong massage, my first presumption was:⁣
"oh my ... that's gonna be hell of a pain for my poor sensitive skin."⁣
Instead: it was one of the sweetest, most profound treatments I've ever had and finally I felt my fat cells crying while my lymphatic system was experiencing an intense deep-sweeping orgasm.😄 ⁣

💆‍♀️ And my second misjudgement was about 𝗞𝗔𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗬𝗔 𝗗𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗔 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘮 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺.⁣
Well, my first line of thought was that perhaps it would be just too gentle. ⁣
And then WOOOOAH ... I regressed back to my babyhood feeling like my mom was giving me a nurturing warm bath. It was fenomenal. My stiffness level dropped at least 70% and I literally metamorphed into a jellyfish.😅 ⁣

I talked about this to my doctor and I learnt from her that acually abhyanga (full body oil massage) has the same effect on many Indians as they oil their little ones since they are born. ⁣

𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣:⁣
⚡be less prejudicial⁣
⚡trust the process⁣
⚡Ayurveda is full of surprises - not that I thought otherwise🤷‍♀️⁣
⚡these body treatments could be used as part of trauma work ⁣

🌿Boiling your water you bring the fire element into it, which helps:⁣
🔥 strenghten your digestive fire, thus improves the assimilation of the food you eat.⁣
🔥 flush the digestive system and eliminate ama - toxic, waste materials - that block both your tissues and cellular channels or shrotas.⁣
🔥 not only clean it from general impurities, but as water is said to have memories ... the heat purifies it also from those unwelcome imprinted subtle energies. ⁣

Adding herbs to it you can further boost its benefits towards different directions. ⁣

𝗽.𝘀. I will definitely invest in buying a good quality thermo bottle.😌⁣

Importance of 𝗦𝗔𝗗𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗔, daily practice. ⁣
“Sadhana” is the Sanskrit word for a spiritual practice.⁣

Any form of regular spiritual practice from yogasana to pranayam, meditation, chanting or any spiritual activity can be considered a sadhana.⁣
I prefer practicing in the mornings - 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘩𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘶𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘢 - as the world is still quite, my mind is rested, thus it is easier to integrate mindfulness within. ⁣

As you are born, you begin life in the 3 lower - 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭 - chakras. And for quite a long time your thoughts and actions revolve mainly around survival, possessions, physical pleasures, and prestige.⁣
Then you may start doing yoga or other spiritual practices and have the misconception that for real self-growth you need to renounce all the material aspects of the world.⁣
However, we are all spiritual beings having human experience and for many it is not quite practical being in denial of it. Moreover, it may cause further dis-eases.⁣

My sadhana for me means to connect my lower, material realms with my higher, more transcendental chakras through the wisdom of the heart. The heart connects Mother Earth to Father Sky ... helps us to be more grounded instead of chasing only sensual pleasures, while guiding us on our self-discovery without having our heads always above the clouds.⁣
Thereby we may also step out from the bo***ge of false ego and become love in service.⁣

𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐨 𝐛𝐲 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞?

Every year as the Solemnity of All Saints approach, my attention rests longer on the subject of death and letting go. So, contemplating on the art of letting go, these thoughts visited me:

The art of letting go is also found in the core of spiritual traditions in the forms of:
• 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘦 𝘦𝘨𝘰,
• 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘯-𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴,
• 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱 𝘰𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘴 …

And actually – 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 … 😏 –, often times it leads to misunderstanding of blindly getting rid of something “bad” or despicable that does not serve our self-growth. Moreover, resulting in the suppression of our non-desirable behavioural traits – 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴 – instead of processing it on the altar of self-discovery. Without understanding its real nature – 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭 – it will usually result in confusion and tensing up even more.🤷‍♀️

In my interpretation 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐨 is not something you do, rather it is a “𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐄𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐂𝐓”. Side effect of an actual hard work, as deep diving into our past, meeting the darkness in our own shadow world and finding our light in the pitch-black is never a joyride to cotton candy land … inspite of that, inevitable part of healing.

I wish you, beautiful, a deeply introspective weekend.😌💕

"All the eggs a woman will every carry form in her ovaries while she is a four-month-old fetus in the womb of her mother. This means our cellular life as en egg begins in the womb of our grandmother. Each of us spent five months in our grandmother's womb, and she in turn formed within the womb of her grandmother. We vibrate to the rhythms of our mother's blood before she herself is born, and this pulse is the thread of blood that runs all the way back through the grandmothers to the first mother."

On a physical level the Moon is related to our hormonal nest, the pituitary gland, as well as the uterus, breasts, ovaries and definitely the menstrual cycle. Syncing our own cycle to the phases of the Moon to optimise fertility is nothing unknown to the indigenous cultures in tune with nature. Only we forgot about the magical powers of nature as we lost connection on the way.🤷‍♀️

On the other hand, every lunar month Mother Moon turns her beautiful face towards us and anything that’s been hidden can come to light.
Emotions are water and - just as the ebb and flow - are moved by the Moon, pulled out from the darkest places … sometimes in the form of a wild stormy ocean, sometimes as a slowly flowing river.

I am lucky enough to live nearby water so that anytime my female energy gets off balance and needs a boost up, I take a short or long walk by the river. ⁣

Be either a woman or man, you need the water element, thus in case of having the opportunity I highly suggest taking some walks, alone or even with your loved one(s) by any water - note that the full Moon puts the cherry on top.

Travel is exciting, helps us unplug from our daily life, brings new perspectives, change of air but moving away from our regular routine is quite stimulating and aggravates our nervous system bringing high dose of air and ether (space) element into our life.
Generally speaking, travelling is associated with the Vata dosha especially in case of travelling by car or plane, thus you had better keep your Vata at bay even if you are more of a Pitta or Kapha person.

In the further posts we are going to find out how the doshas enjoy their holidays at their best and some tricks and tips to avoid the negative side effects of travelling. Oh boy … yes there are, think of jet lag, bloating, constipation, nausea or the urgent need of another holiday right after the holiday.🙈

Our story

Hi dear traveller, I am Kata Dovigi

Welcome to the world of healing!

I think we can agree on that we all want to live a healthy, joyful, prosperous life with our mind more at peace.

We can step on the path of healing only if we understand a truly essential aspect of life: it is changing all the time.
