“Using a minimally invasive method, we release shortened and hardened connective tissue or muscle fibers that restrict joint mobility. After the procedure, our patients regain mobility and greater independence,” explains Dr. Igor Nazarov when describing his surgical method.

Due to strong interest from our clients, Dr. Igor Nazarov, a specialist in myotenofasciotomy, is once again coming from Barcelona to Piešťany.

📅 Consultations: Friday, February 13 – Saturday, February 14, 2026
📍 ADELI Medical Center, Piešťany

Myotenofasciotomy is suitable for both children and adults with cerebral palsy as well as patients after severe brain injuries. The procedure results in muscle release, increased range of motion, and improved effectiveness of neurophysiological exercises. Patients benefit from better mobility, stability, and balance, leading to an overall improvement in health and quality of life. When the procedure is performed in the neck and facial area, it also has a direct positive effect on feeding and speech.

Since 1992, Dr. Igor Nazarov has been dedicated to the further development of the surgical method known as “closed selective myotenofasciotomy.” During the procedure, he performs delicate and precise incisions using a small crescent-shaped scalpel. To date, more than 9,000 patients from many countries around the world, including Slovakia, have been treated using this method.

Before the procedure, a thorough examination and consultation are carried out to determine the exact surgical plan. The surgery itself is performed exclusively in Barcelona, Spain, under local anesthesia or short-term general anesthesia and lasts approximately 1 to 3 hours. Hospitalization (with one parent present, of course) usually does not exceed one day/one night.

During the consultation, you will receive further details about the procedure, organizational information, and the cost of treatment at Dr. Nazarov’s clinic in Barcelona.
