ππ§ MONITORING PROGRESS: EMPOWERING LOWUMA VILLAGE BONGOR BARGBO CHIEFDOM, NIAGOREHUN BARGBO BARBGO CHIEFDOM WITH CLEAN WATER & SOLAR ELECTRICITY π§π
We are thrilled to share updates from our monitored visit to Lowuma Village in Bongor Chiefdom, where our Community-Led Solar Borehole Pump with Carbon Reverse Osmosis Technology is transforming lives and health systems.
πΆ For years, the people of Lowuma have had to cross a canoe boat to reach the town, relying on a contaminated river source for drinking, cooking, laundry, and bathing. This situation has led to frequent waterborne disease outbreaks, with pregnant women and children being the most vulnerable.
But today, the narrative is changing. π
With the incredible support of the German Embassy in Freetown, and the strong leadership of the Lowuma, Niagorehun Bargbo communities, this project is providing safe, clean drinking water and so much more:
π SOLAR-POWERED ELECTRICITY FOR LOCAL CLINICS
π©Ί Powering night-time services, safe childbirth, and emergency care
π§ Supporting cold-chain storage for essential vaccines
π‘ Ensuring lights, fans, and refrigeration for dignity and safety
π§ CLEAN WATER FOR CLINIC HYGIENE & PATIENT CARE
To ensure safe and effective healthcare delivery, prevent infections, and maintain patient dignity, clean water access is essential. It supports:
Handwashing and hygiene for healthcare workers
Cleaning medical tools and disinfecting surfaces
Managing biomedical waste
Keeping patients hydrated and enabling safe medical procedures
π SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS THROUGH A SOLAR CHARGING CENTER
A community charging hub for phones and devices helps fund maintenance of the borehole system, fostering a self-sustaining model owned and led by the people β building resilience and circular community investment.
π "Ask forgiveness from your Lordβ¦ He will send rain from the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength upon strength." β Surah Nuh (71:10β11)
This verse reminds us that with unity, sincerity, and effort, The Grand Architect provides abundant blessings. Like Nabi Sulaiman (AS) who led with knowledge and compassion, this initiative demonstrates how faith, science, and community can come together to create lasting change.
πͺπΎ Impact Highlights:
π° Safe water reducing illness and improving public health
β‘ Reliable power enhancing clinic operations and emergency care
π§ Clean water for infection prevention and patient support
π‘ Charging hub supporting sustainability and local economy
π± Renewable energy strengthening environmental resilience
ππΎ Thank you to the German Embassy in Freetown, the Lowuma and Niagorehun Bargbo communities, local stakeholders, and all who made this project possible.
ππΎThanks Chief Habib and community of Lowuma Bongor Chiefdom for incredible support.
This is what faith in action looks like. Letβs keep building stronger, healthier communities β one drop, one watt, one step at a time. π
