DAY TWO: As the rollout of the “Empowering Students with disability at the University of Sierra Leone” continues day two was jam packed with two separate sessions to accommodate all the participants.

We learned about “Disability Issues in Sierra Leone and how we can promote inclusion of disabled people in Sierra Leone.”
We were amazed at how participants brought together ideas on how we can improve and strive for inclusion for all persons with disability across the country. Many called for the attention of our dear chief minister David Moinina Sengeh - PhD to intervene on the extra charges for PWDs at the University of Sierra Leone while others called for an improved implementation of the Persons with Disability Act, 2011, Act No. 3 of 2011.

We made action points after the project would have been completed.

Thank you to Plan International Sierra Leone for supporting our initiative. We look forward to working with you.

Tuesday 26th September 2023 marks the start of the “Empowering students with disability at the University of Sierra Leone” Project which will run until 17th November 2023.

Students With Special Needs in collaboration with Plan International Sierra Leone under the Youth Challenge Fund engages students with special needs across the constituent colleges under the University of Sierra Leone (FBC, IPAM and COMAHS).

The project aims to empower students with disability at the University of Sierra Leone in areas of business and entrepreneurship, civic education and basic computing knowledge.

As the world is moving towards entrepreneurial growth and innovation SWiSN FBC felt the need to create spaces for persons with disability to empower themselves and subsequently thrive in that regard.

It is against this backdrop that SWiSN FBC wants to thank the entire team at PLAN International Sierra Leone for their immense support to make this project possible and also to the participants and to the administration of the Fourah Bay College (FBC).

Thank you Plan International Sierra Leone!
