Today, on 09th September 2025, we are thrilled to conclude a one day training session about Occupational Health and Safety for Waste Pickers in Hargeisa. The training was held at Hargeisa Cultural Center.

The main objective of the training was to increase the awareness and knowledge of participants towards identification of hazards and risks at workplace. Topics include advantages of using PPE, incident reporting, risk assessment have been discussed in the training. Finally, the participants have been distributed of PPE.

The training was organized and implemented with partnership of Eco Plastics with the fund of World Vision.

The CARE EHS Consulting Ltd. hosted a panel discussion about the importance and health benefits of Breastfeeding. This event was commemorated for the World Breastfeeding Week 01st to 07th August. The event was held at Sahanbooks Hall.

This event, specifically aimed at increasing awareness and knowledge to the people for the importance and health benefits of Breastfeeding; both the mother and child, highlighted how media serves as a vital tool for expanding knowledge and awareness to the people by using different kinds of communication skills and methods.

The opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Abdiladif Mohamed, CEO of CARE EHS Consulting Ltd., who gave a detailed explanation of the purpose and importance of such events. He noted that this kind of panels with different background experts in different sectors will produce a sustainable and strategic solutions for the adaptation and practicing of Breastfeeding.

Abdikariim Ilka Case , Nutrition manager at MoHD had much explanations and information about the importance of Breastfeeding by using real-life examples and practical advice, he explained in depth the efforts doing at his office regarding the health and nutrition of mothers and child. He encouraged participants to take these messages into their homes and neighbours.

Ayaan Shullac , a journalist and advocate, was also among the panellists mentioned the role of media in disseminating the messages of Health and Nutrition to the community. The challenges and recommendations stated were useful and helpful.

Laila Omar , well renowned of Laila Jumeira - an entrepreneur and social activist, had emphasized the role of mother in promoting the health and nutrition of her children by make exclusive Breastfeeding. She totally excluded the rumours and negative beliefs about Breastfeeding including " Breastfeeding remove the beauty of the girl" and " Breastfeeding decreases the productivity of the girl "

Dr. Mohamed Ali, from Quality Control Commission had extremely explained the ongoing efforts and policies and strategies developed to control the imported milk and the guidelines and protocols using to check its quality.

The event finally concluded in a lively atmosphere, with participants showing strong interest and energy in adapting knowledge and awareness of the health benefits of Breastfeeding.
