Arch Umberto (Arco di Umberto) was one of Mogadishu’s iconic colonial landmarks built in the early 1930s.
It stood near the old port as a grand triumphal arch dedicated to King Umberto I of Italy. Though it no longer exists today, it remains an important part of Mogadishu’s architectural history and a reminder of how the city evolved through different eras.
