Looking Ahead, High Hopes, and Some Hurdles: It Is Time For Action:
It is Today,
Hepatitis is now the world's deadliest virus after COVID-19. Deaths numbers are rising, and more people's lives are at risk, we can stop this, but there is no time to waste. If we act now by scaling up Hepatitis testing and treatment, we could prevent 4.5 million deaths by 2030.
AFRICA HEPATITIS COALITION message today is for Donors to work with us and fund Hepatitis elimination and for governments and policy makers to prioritize Viral Hepatitis, take action and increase access to testing, and treatment to those who need it. Eliminating Hepatitis is achievable, as we have all the vaccines, testing, and treatment to get there: now, we need to Act together.
We continue our efforts to contribute to the prevention and control of viral Hepatitis as it is in the theme of this year's : it is time for action. This is not just a fight against liver disease- Hepatitis, it is a movement towards a healthier, Hepatitis free Africa, and Hepatitis free world. Together, we hold the power to change lives.

We call for simplified and Decentralised Hepatitis responses, which are integrated within health systems designed for the people they serve and developed in partnership with the affected communities.

To achieve this, we can for immediate increased prioritisation of Hepatitis elimination by government. Responses must be nationally led, have the meaningful involvement of affected communities, and domestic financing must be committed or increased. Let's stand united, stronger than ever, in our mission to eliminate viral Hepatitis, our greatest and deadliest Enemy.
