A dying old man said to his doctor while on the sick bed " Doctor, don’t worry. I know I am going to die. I didn’t want to come here but they brought me here.
Please don’t worry about me, look at my hair, they are gone. I am so old but you are so young. I have learnt a lot from life, if you don’t mind I will tell you some of them before I die.
When I was 4 years, I use to think the world is about me. When I turned 14, I wanted to rule the world. I thought I would be the greatest man that ever lived. When I was 21, I wanted to be the richest man, when I was 25, I wanted to find love, when I was 40, I wanted to be helpful to everyone. Now that I am here, I want to die. You see, I wanted so many things at so many times. Most importantly, I wanted to be happy. I thought the best way to be happy is to listen to others.
When I wanted to enter the University, I wanted to study Zoology but everyone said I should study Engineering that I will be a great Engineer. So I listened to them. I had no one to pay my fees, I had to work and also pay my fees. In my third year, I couldn’t cope with my studies, I had to drop. When I dropped, the same people told me "you should have studied Zoology"!
When I turned 28, everyone said I should marry. That I needed a wife. So I listened to them, I got married. 6 years into the marriage, I caught my wife sleeping with my neighbour. I asked her why and she slapped me. I was angry and didn’t say anything. The next day I returned from work, she had run away with my children, now I am dying a lonely man.
At 40, I got a huge contract. My name was in the news. The next day, all my friends and families were at my house, everyone had a serious problem. Within one week, I spent all the money on them with the promise that they will pay back. I could not complete the contract because they refused to return the money as promised. So I was sent to jail for 6 years. I stayed in jail and I came out. When I came out, they were nowhere.
There was one mistake I made through all this time. Now it is clear to me. Let me tell you about it. I refused to listen to myself. I ignored my own self and listen to others. Now that I am here the only person that is with me is myself.
You see, it is very good to listen to others. It is very wise to seek advice from others. But it is very dangerous to ignore your own self. It is very very dangerous to refuse to pay attention to your heart.
When you get home this night, sit down, take a glass of water. Close your eyes if you want or open it if you want, then talk to yourself, reason with yourself. You can walk down the road alone and as you walk, begin to talk to yourself.
The only person that can overrule yourself is God, after God, listen to yourself next. I know it may not make sense to you now but always remember I told you LEARN TO LISTEN TO YOURSELF.

🍼To those who say NICU nursing is “just feeding babies”…

Please understand they don’t just feed babies.
They resuscitate them. They monitor their tiny hearts beat by beat. They regulate ventilators, manage life-saving medications, and act quickly and gently when a baby stops breathing.
They calm trembling parents with tear-filled eyes.
They care for fragile lives that weigh less than a pineapple.

Feeding a NICU baby isn't as simple as giving a bottle. It often means: ➡️ Checking if they can suck, swallow, and breathe
➡️ Managing NG/OG tubes, TPN, IV fluids
➡️ Calculating exact calories for growth
➡️ Advocating for breastmilk and kangaroo care

NICU nursing is science, skill, sacrifice, and soul.
So before you say “it’s just feeding,”
Come spend one shift with them😂. I had 3 months with them last year and I got to know all these...

🗣I learned that in the NICU, every drop, every breath, every second counts.

Respect to them💗

Diabetes is more serious than many people think.

It does not just affect your blood sugar level only —it can damage your eyes, kidneys, heart, nerves, and more.

Please, don’t ignore the signs and symptoms related to Diabetes Mellitus. Check your blood sugar level regularly and take care of yourself. It doesn't cause a lot.

for mixing two types of insulin—NPH (intermediate-acting) and Regular (short-acting)—using one syringes in sequence. This process is important for patients who need a combination of insulins for blood sugar control.

1 (A): Inject 30 units of air into the vial containing NPH insulin (Vial A). This equalizes the pressure inside the vial to make it easier to withdraw insulin later.
2 (B): Inject 12 units of air into the vial containing Regular insulin (Vial 😎. Similarly, this is to equalize pressure in this vial.
3: Withdraw 12 units of Regular insulin from Vial B. This is the short-acting insulin dose.
4 (C): Withdraw 30 units of NPH insulin from Vial A. This is the intermediate-acting insulin dose.

Key points:
• Air is injected into each vial before withdrawing insulin to avoid creating a vacuum.
• Regular insulin is withdrawn first before NPH insulin to avoid contaminating the Regular insulin vial with NPH insulin, as NPH is cloudy and Regular is clear.
• This order ensures the correct dose and maintains insulin efficacy and safety.

This procedure is known as the “mixing insulin” technique, often used for patients requiring a combination of insulin types in one injection.

I cried after reading the saddest Jollibee story. It’s heartbreaking—how painful and difficult childbirth is, and yet your partner treats you like that?

“Jollibee Paper Bag Story”

I went through a traumatic experience giving birth at a public hospital. I was alone, in labor for 16 hours, and in pain every five minutes. The nurses were kind, but the doctors were the opposite—they would get mad at me for reacting to the pain I was feeling. I was checked internally five times, which was the worst pain I’d ever experienced, all while lying on an unclean delivery bed still stained with other people’s blood.

Just five steps away from me, another woman was screaming in horror while giving birth—no curtain, no divider, nothing.

A doctor had to do splinting to remove my stool but didn’t even wipe me or give me a napkin—just put my old diaper back on. I gave birth in front of at least ten students. One of them was holding a phone, and I noticed they were taking a video of me—without my consent.

Afterward, one nurse gave me a nasty look and told me to go take a bath. I was forced to take a cold bath just after giving birth because they said there was no hot water left. I was terrified that I might die—it didn’t feel safe. I felt like I had lost all my dignity.

I told my husband everything—and all he said was:

“It’s okay. It’s over anyway.”

No eye contact. No comfort. Just those plain words.

And the next day, he came back to the hospital holding a Jollibee paper bag. My eyes lit up and I said, “Wow, Love! That looks delicious!”

And he replied:

“Sorry, Love, this is just for me. I’m really hungry. You know I stayed up all night waiting for you. There’s free hospital food—you can just have that.”

Soon, the phrase "organ failure" will disappear.

Scientists around the world are printing organs and growing skin made of living tissue.
"Already from your own cells scientists can grow skin, cartilage, noses, blood vessels, bladders and windpipes. In the future, scientists will grow more complex organs, like livers and kidneys. The phrase 'organ failure' will disappear." — Michio Kaku

To: Uncle Aleu Ayieny Aleu,

We hope this message finds you well, Uncle, and always be in the name of our ancestors.

First and foremost, we would like to grab this golden opportunity to acknowledge your immense sacrifice and work you have accomplished as well as your indelible contributions towards the liberation that birthed the country we now proudly call home, thank you for being part of the pioneers of the 16th May Revolution, we appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts as South Sudanese youth for the incredible journey you have taken in not only liberating our country but becoming a legend you are as a result of this process.

We are voicing our concern and disapproval in regards to your choice of outfit at the wedding ceremony of Pan Adolmuot and Pan Vasili which occured days ago.

NB: We will not attach the original photo or the video out of respect for you and our wish to distance ourselves from anything promoting any foreign culture that is a threat to our cultural values and norms as well as adhering to Jieng Journal's Afro-centricity only contents.

Dear Uncle,

As an pioneer, a liberator, an icon and most importantly an elder that we deeply respect and model we would like to bring to your attention of our despondence and disappointment with the way you presented yourself previously at the wedding Ceremony between the two beautiful families of Pan Adolmuot and Pan Vasili where you attended a Traditional Jieng wedding ceremony wearing a full Arab traditional attire, a white robe with a turban beautifully scarfed on your head, no doubt that you were looking stunningly impressive, smart and classy with the attires on, perfectly fitting on you btw😊

Unless our sources and our Jieng historical record betray us, we do know that you are from Paleu Clan of Jieng Rek section. Historically Paleu is one of the first few clans established before other clans currently inhabiting Jieng Rek lands after the grand migration of Jieng lead by spiritual leader Longardit from the east to the west crossing the river and settling first in Cuei Muor Angac believed to be in present day Yirol, Lakes States. Given this fact they are found all over Jieng Rek lands from Kong-gor Arop in Tonj to Korok Achien Yor in Mading Aweil just to mention but few.

As fate would have it, one of our revolutionaries and great liberators in the person of Aleu Ayieny Aleu hailed from this great clan with rich Jieng cultural heritage.

Now to briefly elaborate more on the message of this piece of writing, we would like to express our sincere disappointment in you Uncle, for having presented yourself the way you did inspite of being one of the wisest Jieng elders we adore and look up to as a teacher and mentor of Jieng youth on how to better embrace their culture and not desert, deny or demonize their roots and identity by publicly embracing any foreign culture which directly or indirectly preaches the demonization of our cultures and traditions.

It's in our knowledge that not only are you a liberator but together with Uncle Ateny Wek Ateny, you are all Jieng scholars, and leading figures amongst us who are so outspoken and vocal regarding so many affairs that are affecting us as a Jieng community around the world which undoubtedly explain your constant invitation to speak at various Jieng weddings and ceremonies.

It was sad as much as disappointing to all of us who place you on the pedestal as a role model insofar as our cultural values are concerned, it was a slap in the face to all those who worked relentlessly to indoctrinate our people into cultural awakening, it was a bomb dropped on all the work we continue to do persistently to help reshape our lost children, brothers and sisters to avoid clinging desperately on any foreign culture introduced by the foreign agents of cultural destruction, because they have the most beautiful culture embodying Honor, Dignity, Obedience and integrity as well as norms, values and principles that shaped and continue to shape our people's rich way of life teaching them that it is of no importance and relevance to cuddle a different culture for you are not truly a human being if you cut your roots and desert your identity.

Outfits are generally used to identify certain group of people or organisations for instance if you put on a Grand Dragon which is a full white robe and a hood in America you will be 100% labeled as a K*K member because the clothing and the outfit are the symbols of the white supremacy group known as the K*K, similarly if you put on a vestment you will automatically be said to be a clergy or a Christian priest so the choice of clothing and outfit matters as it translates to your acceptance and identification of the group associated with that particular garment or attire in question.

Seeing you in Arabic attire and garments caused us a psychological shock and defeat in this fight of teaching cultural embodiment in view of the fact that as one of the most popular politicians and Jieng elders who values his own culture it was not the best thing to do to publicly declare an endorsement of foreign cultural attires moreover an Islamic attire in other words an admiration for the culture of our sworn nemesis.

A foreign culture that we as South Sudanese have fought viciously day and night for 50 consistent years because our forefathers understood one thing and that was accepting this Islamic or Arabic religion and it's culture camouflaged as mere garments was a Jieng cultural su***de which will have subsequently lead to a full Arabization of Jieng and culturally, socially, politically assimilate them into Arabness or better, create a psychological crisis of identity that will harden their cultural resurrection if it survives the fatality at all hence it is imperative that the elders who paved the way for us should act according to the way that uplifts the community, inspire the young generation and uphold Jieng traditional principles which automatically becomes a form of encouragement and promotion of our norms and values as this helps build confidence and high self-esteem in our young generation which is a victim of modern technology and rapid premature urbanisation of our country leading to "Ngupngup geu ka tuc" and ignoring or neglecting the culture that gave us our names, language, songs, dance which is reflected in our love for Jieng nation.

While it is totally acceptable for any individual to choose or dress whatever and however they deem appropriate regardless of race, religion or gender it's quite ambivalent for a Jieng elder who participated so much in the fight of repelling the very culture that he's today putting on it's religion-symbolising garment and attend a traditional Jieng wedding ceremony where he graced the stage and gave a speech to the audience present at the time.

As Jieng youth and Pan Afrikanists, this is grossly unacceptable on behalf of all African cultural revivors and would like to deeply express our disappointment in you, uncle, we feel like you have let us down and have now weaponized enemies who are holding their breathe to see us fail in preserving our culture and tradition, we vowed to suffocate them but now that they've seen one of the most prominent elders publicly on Islamic garment they have everything they need including but not limited to free oxygen to attack and belittle our culture and traditions to a point of death.

Now to some extent our followers who were on the journey to fully immerse themselves in our rich culture and embrace it might be discouraged and lose confidence that took them hard work and dedication modeling so many great Jieng including yourself uncle to build, seeing a role model like you in a garment we publicly preach to boycott and avoid at all costs is a terrible setback.

As discouraging, saddening and dismaying as it was we know and can categorically state that you are a proud Jieng elder who will never desert his identity comes the sky falling as we believe this was inadvertent, however it was as we said a weapon for those who are secretly, discreetly and diligently working to commit a cultural homicide by installing an Islamic culture which will change and completely shatter our beautiful culture to pieces as it is discouraging to many and confidence-murdering in some.

The Islamic religion has tirelessly attempted to murder our culture and spirituality in cold blood for ages as resilient and strong as our culture and forefathers were, it would be a shame and disgrace for us to embrace and desert our culture right after they perished protecting and preserving the core values and essence of this very tradition that guide us socially, mentally and spiritually.

Hence we fight and continue to fight the demonization and the ethnocide in any way shape or form from various elements including the in-house participants and spectators of the ethnocide taking place in Africa today.

Together we shall rise.

Thank you for your understanding and for having read this piece.

We would also like to apologise in advance should you find any statement denigrating or negative, we did not mean it that way and do not wish to insult you in any way or form, we just thought it was important for you as a Jieng elder to hear our concern on this matter.

Thank you, Uncle.

What Is Purslane?
Purslane, also known as common purslane, little hogweed, pigweed, fatweed, or pusle, is found worldwide. In the U.S., it's often considered a nuisance. But in other parts of the globe, it's regularly eaten at meals or used as medicine. In Mexico, it's called verdolaga and isincluded in recipes. In Chinese folklore, purslane is known as a "vegetable for long life."

Because it's a succulent (a plant that can retain water), purslane thrives in climates that can't sustain a lot of other plants. Its sturdy nature makes it a great option for very dry, hot regions or for gardeners who don’t trust themselves to water regularly. This easily overlooked plant also provides a surprising number of health benefits. But you'll probably have to grow it yourself if you want to reap its nutritional rewards.

Purslane Benefits
You might not guess from looking at its tiny yellow flowers or rubbery green leaves, but purslane is listed by the World Health Organization as one of the most used medicinal plants in the world. That's because this low-growing plant is: Loaded with antioxidants

Free radicals are unstable molecules in your body that cause cell damage. Antioxidants are special compounds found in plants and plant-based foods that fight against them. Purslane contains plenty of antioxidants, such as:

Vitamin A:It protects your eyes as well as improves your immune system. It's also critical to the health of your organs because it supports healthy cell division.
Beta-carotene: It turns into vitamin A in your body. Its ability to reduce the number of free radicals in your body can help reduce your risk of cancer.
Vitamin C:It keeps your collagen and blood vessels in good shape, and helps heal injuries.
Glutathione: It has anti-cancer properties. Purslane leaves contain more glutathione than spinach.
Glutathione: It has anti-cancer properties. Purslane leaves contain more glutathione than spinach.
Melatonin: It not only helps improve your sleep but also reduces inflammation, helps manage your immune system, and is good for your blood pressure.
Betalain: Although more studies need to be done, the natural substance that gives purslane stems their reddish color appears to have antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal qualities.

Heart health

Omega-3 fatty acids are found in fish, not usually in plants. Purslane is an exception. In fact, it has the highest recorded levels of omega-3 fatty acids of any land-based plant. These essential fats can support the health of your arteries and help prevent strokes, heart attacks, and other forms of heart disease. Omega-3 fatty acids could also help reduce your risk of dementia and some types of cancer, including breast cancer.

Diabetes management

Studies show that eating purslane can reduce your fasting blood sugar. That can be a big help if you live with type 2 diabetes. Although more research needs to be done, some data shows that purslane can help people with a high body mass index (BMI) lose excess weight. Getting to a healthy weight is one of the best ways you can manage your blood sugar and prevent diabetes complications

Bone health

Purslane is also a great source of two minerals that are important to bone health: calcium and magnesium. Your body doesn't make calcium, so you need to get it regularly from food to have strong bones and teeth. About 60% of the magnesium that you have in your body is stored in your bones. It helps produce bone-building cells and controls a hormone that helps your body use calcium. Getting enough of both these minerals can improve your skeletal health and prevent complications from osteoporosis and aging.

Street football rules The old days in Thiet:
1. No referee.(we all decide on what has happened)
2. The game ends either when players are tired or at the time your mom call you.
3. The score is sometimes limited🤏🏿 to specific number of goals or left open as normal
4. A penalty is given if a player swears on god and on his beloved ones🤦🏾.
5. The chubby person becomes the goalkeeper😝.
6. If the ball owner gets angry, he take the ball, and the game is over😁.
7. The fouls is counted if everyone agrees🙃.
8. The wall is a good player and can be in your team side at any time😁.
9. An extra player is allowed if the teams are not equal😂
10. Goalkeepers can be changed during a penalty kick and returns back in their position afterwards😆.
11. There is no time limit, no first half and second half⌚... if you are tired rest at your own will and return😴
12. Hitting the goalposts🥅 is counted as a point but no one consider it a goal🤫
13. Verbal warning are given but no Yellow cards or Red cards and no offside🤗
14. If the ball goes over the crossbar, the game pauses for half an hour to discuss whether it's a goal or not😄.
15. The ball owner plays for the stronger team 😝.

Greetings to everyone who lived these beautiful memories❤️
