Feeling safe — what does that mean to you?
Not in a physical sense, but in the quiet, emotional way. The kind of safety where your guard softens, your breath deepens, and your thoughts no longer race to protect or explain. Emotional safety can look like being seen without needing to perform, or having space to feel without being rushed to fix. It’s in the tone of someone’s voice, the permission to be quiet, or the sense that nothing more is being asked of you in that moment.
When we feel safe, our nervous system responds — it starts to regulate, to return to balance. We can rest, we can connect, we can even laugh more easily. Feeling safe doesn’t always mean everything is perfect. Sometimes it simply means we’re no longer bracing. Take a moment to reflect: where or with whom do you feel that sense of calm safety? What helps create it in your own life?
