Drugs affecting the central nervous system CNS provide anesthesia and sedation, relieve pain and anxiety, suppress movement disorders and epileptic seizures and treat psychotic and affective disorders. These drugs include general and local anesthetics , anxiolytics and sedative hypnotics , opioid analgesics , Antiparkinsonian agents, antiiepileptics, antipsychotics and antidepressants .
