Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you on behalf of the people of Sweida, a city in southern Syria, who are currently facing a catastrophic humanitarian situation.
In recent days, Sweida has been subjected to a brutal and sectarian attack by militants affiliated with ISIS and Al-Qaeda, reportedly supported by the so-called "Syrian Interim Government." These extremist groups carried out horrific crimes — massacring civilians, burning homes, ra**ng women, and displacing entire families.
In response, local residents had no choice but to defend their lives and communities. However, as a result of this self-defense, the Syrian Government has imposed a complete siege on the city.
There is no bread, no baby formula, no medicine, no fuel, no electricity, and no access to clean water. The city has been cut off from all essential supplies, and the population is now on the brink of mass starvation.
This is not a political plea — it is a humanitarian cry for help.
We are appealing to your organization, and to all international humanitarian actors, to:
Help open a humanitarian corridor via Jordan or any viable route.
Provide urgent aid, including food, baby milk, medicine, fuel, and clean water.
Raise awareness within your networks about the inhumane siege currently imposed on the city.
Thousands of innocent civilians — children, elderly, and vulnerable families — are suffering. Their survival now depends on international solidarity and immediate action.
We sincerely ask for your help in any way possible.
