Among the guests of the 41st Annual Conference of the Syrian Society of Ophthalmologists, which will be held on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of May - Sheraton, Damascus: Dr. Noha Lutfi Al-Fayoumi

Noha studied medicine at the University of Damascus and obtained a certificate of specialization in ophthalmology and surgery from the Syrian Ministry of Health
She practiced her work as a specialist in the glaucoma department at the Surgical Eye Hospital until 2010, when she headed the glaucoma department from 2010 until 2018.
Noha has performed thousands of surgeries and mastered glaucoma surgery
In 2017, she obtained the Syrian Board Certificate in Ophthalmology and Ophthalmology
Noha loved science and learning, and she found that the best way to do so was to prepare educational lectures. She had permanent participation in continuing professional development programs, and she had several participations in local, regional and international conferences.

Dr. Ahmed Mostafa Abdelrahman, MD, FRCSED, is A professor of Ophthalmology and Consultant Glaucoma Surgeon, Cairo University. In 2015, he achieved the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Total Quality Management (TQM) for Healthcare Reform. Dr. Ahmed is the founding President of the Egyptian Society for Continuous Ophthalmic Education (EGSCOE), 2015.

He is a glaucoma consultant with national, international publications and innovations in the field of glaucoma surgery with special interests in non-penetrating glaucoma surgeries, Laser trabeculoplasty, Glaucoma Drainage Devices, and childhood glaucomas. He is also a glaucoma reviewer for several PubMed prestigious Ophthalmology Journals.

He is the owner of the Giza specialized Eye center, a tertiary glaucoma care facility offering patient care and a workshop glaucoma educational program. He is the head of the glaucoma service, Kasr Al Aini School of Medicine. In 2016, the Royal College of Edinburgh council appointed him to be an examiner in the overseas college exams. He is the head of the “Optics & Refraction” committee, Kasr Al Aini.

He received several prestigious awards: the Education Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 2019, the international scholar award, AAO, 2021, and the second-place winner of Global Contest Videos 2022, AAO on his innovative video: Tripple-tunnel AGV Tube Placement.

In March 2022, he was chosen to be the Secretary General of the middle East African Glaucoma Society (MEAGS), a society that serves different glaucoma activities in Middle East, Africa, and Turkey with huge international collaborations. He is a glaucoma steering committee member of Evolving Practice of Ophthalmology Middle East Conference (EPOMEC, UAE) and a program participant at the American Academy of ophthalmology ( AAO).

.We are honored to have Professor Yuri Takhtaev (Russia) at the 41th conference of the Syrian Society of Ophthalmologists.
Prof Takhtaev is going to participate in cataract surgery sessions with several lecturers and videos.
Prof Takhtaev is one of the founders of phacoemulsification surgery in Russia. He was the first doctor who started this surgery in the city of Petersburg. He has many scientific participations in international conferences.
