This time of year is the perfect time to begin using a sauna, especially if you haven't before. In addition to the health benefits listed in this post, using a sauna can also benefit your immune system, which we all need in this cold and flu season!
A good rule of thumb when using a sauna: start slow and build your way up. Sitting in a sauna for a full hour might be a bit intense on your system, so start with maybe just 15 -20minutes for the first couple of weeks.
Also, don't forget to shower after the sauna to remove toxins from the skin and to rehydrate with plenty of water and electrolytes!
