There are a number of causes of liver cancer, the most important of which are:
Liver cirrhosis caused by viral liver infections or due to excessive consumption of alcoholic drinks, which is one of the most important factors in causing liver cell cancer.
- Viral chronic hepatitis is one of the strongest predisposing factors for liver cancer.
(Aflatoxin is a derivative of yellow aspergillus fungus), which is carcinogen and is one of the predisposing factors for the occurrence of primary hepatocellular carcinoma in countries where the food contains a large proportion of this compound.
((Chlorphenyl used in the plastic industries) leads to hepatic vascular infection.
There are other predisposing factors, including the fact that the individual is male, and the deficiency of the anti-trypsin enzyme, as is observed by liver cancer in the case of blood pigment (untreated iron overload).
