MOTHER TONGUE is a nature-based cultural, ecological, and culinary experience rooted in Eswatini’s indigenous knowledge systems, landscapes, and community heritage.

The first edition is hosted in a remote location , one of Eswatini’s most magical ecological heritage sites. It is not a retreat but a return to the land and to self through an immersive, nature based itenerary revitalising traditional foodways, plant knowledge, storytelling, and ecological stewardship.

Suitable for individuals, couples, and groups fit to walk in natural terrain, love community, food, wild Flora and Fauna.

Through this series, reimagines wild, indigenous and medicinal foods, honouring ancestral foodways while inspiring a contemporary dialogue about sustainability, wellness, and creativity. Every experience follows the rhythms of nature, shifting with the seasons and landscapes, becoming a living reflection of the time, place, and the natural elements that mould it.

This initial gathering aligns with a culturally significant time in Eswatini’s seasonal cycle, the period when the soil has been awakened by the first rains and the wild erupting flora signals renewal. It is a perfect time to gather with gratitude, reflection, and preparation for abundance in the growing season ahead.

We are so excited for our new drying shed. This is phase 2 of our Mongi workshop development plan. Here is where all botanicals wild foraged and harvested from our now (almost) mature permaculture garden (which was phase 1) will be dried and separated for our loose leaf 🍃 teas and tinctures. Look out for phase 3 soon…
