Sometimes you just got to get out there and do it! While the cold was a shock to this beach girl it was a beautiful walk along the water in this cove area. I can imagine in the summer it would have so many birds that flock there.

Exercise is so critical and the anti-aging remedy. And walking is just one of the best forms of exercise working your whole body. I recently learned that my grandmother that is 98 years old walks everyday for 1 hour. She told me that when it’s to cold outside, she walks from the bathroom to the deep freeze, back and forth for 1 hour 😮 incredible will and discipline 💪When I am out in nature I can connect into my inner sanctum and get the answers I need. Yet another perk when you can allow your mind, body and soul to align 🧘‍♀️

Circa 2015ish playing in the sand with friends ☺️ movement has always been an art for me. The body is magical and capable of having so much potential. I am always in awe when I can get people to move their bodies in ways they never thought was possible and break through those barriers our mind sets us up for. I think about the teachers I had that inspired me to move and how they have influenced me as a teacher. I am so grateful even for the real hard ones—they tapped into my highest potential ❤️

Can’t get any more real then in this moment when you have just sweated your butt off and literally soaked through your shirt with the exception of a small strip lol 😆 these kind of days I am super proud of myself for trying something new and moving out of my comfort zone.
I’ve definitely done my fair share of hard workouts in my days of dancing and circus arts. But Sits are killing me 🥹 with 30 seconds of hardest intensity with a short recovery window in between got my heart pumping especially doing it on pieces of equipment I’ve never used before. Like the battle ropes wow I never thought I could be uncoordinated 🤪 ball slams were fun you almost feel like you are getting out aggression and not to mention that slay!! Omg I didn’t realize moving something so totally heavy and so slow and hard to push or pull would get your heart rate up like a boss 💪

I am looking forward to the next session 😜 anyone want to join me?

Circa 2010 😆 Boy were them the days!! Them were also the days when my body bounced back easily from those crazy nights!

Many of my clients know that I’ve embarked on this mission more obsessively recently to really understand the biological stages the body goes through as we age. Frankly I am terrified of dare I say it Peri-Menopause!! 🙈

Like many people I want to beat the clock on time and feel my very best when I get to my last decade of my life.

I’ve always been interested about longevity and have a deep curiosity into our potentials physical. How does movement and nutrition affect our overall health and How can we heal our bodies with these modalities.

I look to my grandmother who is 94 years old and what she has done and continues to do too maintain well being. From my observation she inspires me to think that a healthy diet consisting of Whole Foods, EXERCISE (resistance training in the water, walking, and of course gardening bending and picking up heavy things), getting fresh air and sunshine daily is a good place to start ☀️😉

I am fascinated by the conversation around Resistance Training and how that influences our health and wellbeing —Having strong muscles is essential to avoiding or slowing down sarcopenia (the wasting away of muscles). Our hormones have receptor sites all over the body including our muscles such as Testosterone which is released when working the legs in exercises such as squats or rows.

I’d say anyone that has tried Pilates knows that you can get a killer leg work out 💪🔥 and if you don’t know you should definitely check it out and see how your body feels 😁

Almost 25 years in the business of Pilates but an enthusiast since I was 16 years old, it’s been an amazing journey of self discovery and helping people find their best self.

I remember by ballet teacher telling us about these Pilates machines when he was rehabbing his knee and thought I need to find out what that’s all about. Since then I’ve been obsessed with body mechanics and movement and have had the privilege to study under the tulage of many great teachers that have influenced our understanding of good alignment and posture, what it is to be strong, fit and healthy.

During my professional dancing days fortunately I never had any injuries and fellow dancers would ask me for advice for their issues. I was blessed to learn early on how and what to do for certain parts of the body. As a young dancer in training I had to work hard at flexibility, I didn’t have great feet and my body wasn’t the typical thin long legs but rather short and muscular so I had to work hard to get the gains that would set me apart. It’s amazing how the body maintains and remembers as we age. While I don’t train how I did in my 20s I can still feel how well my joints move now as I edge closer to 50. It shows you that what you do today sets you up for tomorrow. Never give up and it’s never too late to start something new. You just don’t know your potential 😃
