WHAT IS CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING?

The procedure is quick and painless! The doctor sweeps the cervix (part of the womb facing the birth canal), with a rubber 'ish brush, and sends it to the lab for testing.

Screening starts at age 21 to 25 years old every 3 years. If abnormal cells are detected, treatment is given, and pap smears are done more frequently.
