Services provided at both locations on Providenciales and Grand Turk include Accident and Emergency care, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Family Practice, Medical Oncology, Internal Medicine, Secondary Dentistry, Radiology, Laboratory Services, and Outpatient Haemodialysis. Visiting consultants from North America and the Caribbean region also provide periodic care in the specialties of Nephrology, Urology, Oncology, Neurology, Ear Nose and Throat, Ophthalmology, Cardiology and Plastic Surgery. As February comes to a close, we mark the final Red Friday of Heart Month at Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital.

Red Fridays have represented far more than wearing a colour. They have symbolised unity, resilience, and our shared commitment to delivering quality patient care. Each Friday, we stood together - for our patients, for our colleagues, and for our wider community.

One of the most inspiring aspects of this campaign has been the remarkable level of engagement across the hospital. Some of our team members were so committed that they designed and created their own customised Red Friday shirts. That kind of initiative speaks volumes. It reflects a culture of pride, ownership, and a genuine personal connection to what Red Fridays stand for.

While today marks the close of Heart Month and our Red Friday campaign, the spirit behind it continues in the work we do every single day.

Thank you to every member of our team for embracing the vision of our Heart Strong TCI initiative and wearing red with pride. Heart Strong TCI remains a year-round commitment - promoting heart health awareness, encouraging healthier lifestyle choices, and strengthening community partnerships as we work together to build a truly Heart Strong Turks and Caicos Islands.

Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of illness worldwide, but many risk factors are preventable. Today, we’re encouraging our community to:

✔️ Know your blood pressure numbers
✔️ Check your cholesterol and blood sugar regularly
✔️ Stay physically active (at least 30 minutes a day)
✔️ Choose heart-healthy meals (low sodium, low saturated fat)
✔️ Avoid smoking and limit alcohol

Small, consistent lifestyle changes can significantly reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke.

At TCI Hospital, Red Fridays are a reminder that heart health starts with awareness and awareness starts with education.
