The Elephant Mobile Clinic Vehicle is designed to deliver comprehensive medical care directly to elephants in need—particularly those in remote areas where access to traditional elephant hospitals is limited. Transporting elephants to hospitals can take anywhere from 8 to 36 hours, and upon arrival, the unfamiliar surroundings often increase their stress levels, making treatment even more difficult. This challenge is especially critical in cases such as Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpesvirus (EEHV), which primarily affects calves under ten years old and requires rapid, low-stress intervention for the best chance of survival.
The mobile clinic is fully equipped to provide on-site veterinary care, including emergency treatment, diagnostic testing, and specialized equipment suited for elephants of all ages and conditions. By enabling veterinarians to treat elephants within their familiar environments, the clinic helps reduce stress and support faster recovery. This service is particularly valuable for owners in rural areas—such as farmers—who may struggle to transport their elephants due to distance or work commitments.
The Elephant Mobile Clinic Vehicle (EMCV) needs to raise $75,000 USD to reach completion—and your support can make that possible. I’ve worked closely with Patara Elephant Conservation (PEC) since 2013, and I can personally vouch that every dollar you give will go directly toward building this life-saving mobile clinic.
For elephants in remote areas, timely medical care can mean the difference between life and death. The EMCV will bring expert veterinarians, vital equipment, and emergency treatment straight to the elephants who need it most.
The need is urgent, and your help is needed now. Please use the PayPal link to donate directly to PEC. Every contribution—large or small—brings us one step closer to delivering critical care to elephants in need.
