Children's Development Centre - CDC CDC School provide quality education to ethnic children from Burma living in the Mae Sot area.

Many Burmese ethnic minorities have fled from the violence in Burma to the Thai border town of Mae Sot, located in Tak Province. In 2007, there were approximately 150,000 Burmese migrant workers and their families living in the Mae Sot and Pophra districts of Tak province. These children face many barriers including lack of education, housing and basic human rights. Since 1995, Mae Tao Clinic (MTC) has been providing education to children from Burma living in the Mae Sot area. It supports the Children’s Development Center (CDC) School, It has also been providing food and shelter to unaccompanied children since MTC’s beginnings in 1989 for children at the CDC school. The goal of the CDC School is to provide quality education to Burmese and ethnic minority children. Through its curriculum and extra curricular activities, the CDC hopes to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to work effectively toward their personal goals.
