A woman came to sit and talk with me recently.
At one point, she asked about her 73-year-old mother.
She asked,
“When that time eventually comes for my mother…
what will her state of mind be like?
Will she feel peaceful and calm, or will she be overwhelmed by fear and suffering?”
Honestly, the question felt very deep to me.
Deep enough that I felt there had to be something heavy in her heart for her to ask it so directly.
My first thought was that maybe her mother was seriously ill,
so I asked her,
“Is your mother sick?”
She shook her head and said,
“No… she’s not sick.
But she’s very afraid of it.”
So we opened the cards together.
And honestly, it’s rare for me to see cards repeating the exact same emotional tone so clearly.
The expressions, the energy, the feeling from all three cards…
they all seemed to say the same thing over and over again:
“The fear inside her is very real.”
Sometimes people don’t suffer because something has already happened.
Sometimes they suffer because the mind keeps running ahead into fear, worry, and imagination about the future.
And feelings like this…
they cannot simply disappear because someone says,
“Don’t worry.”
To be honest, in that moment, I didn’t really know how I could help either.
So I asked her,
“Does your mother believe in religion or prayer?”
Because the only thing I could think of at that moment
was helping her mother find something to hold onto emotionally.
I suggested that maybe she could encourage her mother to pray, meditate, or speak positive intentions for herself —
for happiness, good health, strength, and a long life.
Not because prayer magically fixes everything overnight,
but because sometimes it helps calm the heart little by little.
It can soften fear.
It can quiet an anxious mind.
And sometimes, it simply helps someone feel less alone inside themselves.
I also told her to spend more time talking with her mother,
caring for her, being present, and sharing simple moments together.
Because in the end…
things like this are deeply connected to the human heart.
Some people may look physically strong,
yet carry so much fear inside.
While others, even during difficult moments in life.
