When community meets compassion, incredible things happen. 💚

Our own Mike O’Connor joined forces with e-Motion Wellness and Project Hero in San Antonio for the CHAD 1000 X HERO WOD, a challenge that’s about so much more than fitness. It’s about honoring service, talking openly about struggle, and standing up for veteran mental health. Every rep was a promise: that no one has to heal alone, and that together, we can end the stigma around seeking help. 💪

We are deeply honored to see Carrin Perez, a proud U.S. veteran and former Miracles Asia client, featured in the Better Health section of the September/October 2025 issue of VFW Magazine. The article also includes a note from Mark Heather, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Miracles Asia, highlighting the importance of integrated, trauma-informed care in treating veterans with co-occurring PTSD and substance use challenges.

Carrin's courage in sharing her journey through PTSD, addiction, and recovery is nothing short of inspiring. Her story is a powerful reminder that healing is possible, and that seeking help is a sign of strength.

💬 “Unhealed trauma doesn’t fade. It hides in the body… Seeking treatment is not giving up it’s choosing to believe there’s more than one way to heal.”

— Carrin Perez

🙏 Thank you to the VFW team, the editors, and all those involved in producing this impactful article. We know it will encourage more veterans to take that brave first step toward reclaiming their lives from addiction.

At Miracles Asia, we're committed to walking that journey with them.
