***When you don't follow pediatric sepsis guideline, you go to jail***

The law of the Pediatric Sepsis Bundle has been implemented in New York for 5 years already.

Whenever you doubt in sepsis, as a pediatrician, it is mandatory to do these things within an hour.
-Blood culture
-20 cc/kg of fluid bolus
-Antibiotics

It looks simple and by doing all of the sepsis things, it decreases mortality and hospital length of stay. Unfortunately, in New York, only 25% of all hospitals where they completed three things for sepsis within an hour. I assume that a challenge of placing iv in children more difficult than adults.

However, they allow adult doctors for the sepsis bundle to be completed in 3 hours. People are more vigilant and more than half of the hospitals in NY can complete the sepsis bundle for only one hour and twenty minutes. Only 1hr 20 min.

Recently, the NY mayor has another new legislation for sepsis for kids (K 12) to learn about sepsis. They have lots of online sepsis modules for children.

If you want to be a doctor in NY, you need to know a lot of sepsis.
