⚠️ CAUSES OF VARICOSE VEINS IN MEN
The cause of varicocele in men is still unknown. Some hypotheses suggest that varicocele is the result of defective valves in the veins just above the sc***um. Normally, the venous valves act to regulate blood flow away from the testicles to return to the heart in the opposite direction of gravity.
Abnormal functioning of the s***matic vein valves causes blood to stagnate, increasing the volume of blood inside the veins and causing the veins to dilate (increase capacity). This condition occurs most often during puberty in men, when the testicles develop rapidly and need the most blood.
Statistics show that about 85% of varicocele occur in the left testicle. Poor blood circulation leads to higher testicular temperature. Meanwhile, TT production will be optimal at 35 degrees Celsius. Increased testicular temperature disrupts s***matogenesis, reducing the quantity and quality of TT.
Rare causes of varicocele can be:
👉 Deep vein thrombosis: is a condition of blood clots in the deep veins.
👉 Renal arteriovenous malformation: includes renal artery stenosis and occlusion.
👉 Thrombosed plexus.
Some other causes:
👉 In cases of increased abdominal pressure, blood circulation below is poorer. For example, in cases where the patient coughs a lot, frequent constipation will put pressure on the abdomen, blood circulation will be poorer. There are even cases where tumors in the abdomen cause compression, poor blood circulation, causing varicocele.
👉 Smoking and genetic mutations can increase the risk of varicocele
