Backbend Exploration: Strength, Mobility & Conscious Expansion
Inspired by Danka’s intensive study with Vinay Kumar (Pranavashya Yoga)
A supportive session for anyone wishing to explore deeper backbends with strength, clarity, and safety.
In this workshop, we will learn how to build a strong movement foundation to prepare the body for deeper backbends. We’ll explore the small details that make a big difference — how to use the feet and gaze, how to move and stabilise the shoulders safely, and how to twist more deeply without strain.
You will learn to move according to your own anatomy, with clarity and grace rather than force, so that backbending becomes a practice that supports the spine, protects the lower back, and builds vitality instead of tension.

Danka is a senior yoga teacher with 19+ years of experience in Ashtanga and Vinyasa Krama Yoga. She is also a certified Shiatsu therapist and holistic mentor. Her approach blends embodiment, breathwork, bodywork, and mindful lifestyle principles.
