Snoring at night might put you at greater risk of stroke and heart disease!
Sleep apnea can be identified by loud snoring which is then followed by periods when breathing stops or nearly stops. When you snore at night, air cannot get to your lungs efficiently and blood oxygen levels can subsequently drop. This means you might not be getting enough oxygen to your brain. And the body responds to low blood oxygen by pumping blood harder, making your heart work harder as well. Moreover, oxygen deprivation can damage blood vessels in the brain, further contributing to stroke risk.
