The courses aim to provide participants with an up-to-date knowledge and intensive lessons in tropical medicine as well as to strengthen the participant’s potential capability on tropical medicine particularly for diagnosis, treatment management, prevention and control.

Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), the Bureau of Vector-Borne Diseases Control, Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, the Country Health Information Systems and Data Use (CHISU) Program and the WHO Mekong Malaria Elimination Program organized “the Workshop on Cross-border Collaboration for Elimination of Malaria along the International Borders” during 16 - 17 October 2024 at Picnic Hotel Bangkok. The participants are hospital personnel and public health staff from Thailand, Lao PDR and Cambodia.

This 1.5-day workshop aims to present the current and past situation of cross-border malaria control initiatives, focusing on key activities, outcomes, and challenges among each country’ borderline. It also seeks to build a network and strengthen capacity for malaria elimination by sharing key data on case management, treatment follow-up, foci investigation, high-risk areas and population for targeted intervention.

Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Clinical Management of Malaria in collaboration with the World Health Organization Regional Office for South East Asia (WHO SEARO) organized 22nd Virtual International Training Course on Management of Malaria on 19 - 23 August 2024. For this year, the training was held on online platform via Zoom Application.

This training includes online multimedia presentation, online case discussion and experience sharing sessions between experts from the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University.
