🌹 บัลแกเรียมีชื่อเสียงในด้านการผลิตน้ำมันดอกกุหลาบที่ดีที่สุดในโลก ซึ่งเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีราคาแพงจนได้ขึ้นชื่อว่าเปรียบเสมือน "ทองคำเหลว" น้ำมันนี้ได้มาจากดอกกุหลาบมอญพันธุ์ Rosa Damascena อยู่ในหุบเขากุหลาบอันงดงาม น้ำมันนี้เป็นส่วนประกอบสำคัญในน้ำหอมและผลิตภัณฑ์บำรุงผิวแบรนด์ดังราคาแพงมากมาย โดยต้องใช้กลีบดอกกุหลาบมากกว่า 3,500 กิโลกรัมมาผลิตน้ำมันได้แค่ 1 ลิตรเท่านั้น ทุกๆ ปีบัลแกเรียสามารถผลิตน้ำมันดอกกุหลาบนี้ได้ราว 2 ถึง 3.5 ตัน
🌿 ประเพณีการปลูกกุหลาบในบัลแกเรียมีมายาวนานหลายศตวรรษ โดยจะมีการเก็บเกี่ยวอย่างพิถีพิถันเพื่อให้ได้กุหลาบคุณภาพที่ดีที่สุด โดยถือเป็นมรดกของประเทศ โรงงานน้ำมันดอกกุหลาบแห่งแรกในภูมิภาคนี้ถูกก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1820 ในเมืองคาซานลัก ซึ่งถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมผลิตน้ำมันดอกกุหลาบของประเทศ
ปัจจุบันขั้นตอนการเก็บเกี่ยวน้ำมันดอกกุหลาบได้รับความเอาใจใส่เป็นอย่างดี ต้องทำการเก็บเกี่ยวในตอนเช้าเพื่อให้ได้น้ำมันคุณภาพสูงสุด เนื่องจากกลีบดอกจะปล่อยกลิ่นหอมมากที่สุดในยามเช้า คนงานเลือกกลีบดอกไม้อย่างระมัดระวัง แล้วนำไปกลั่นเพื่อทำน้ำมัน

Bulgaria’s fragrant rose oil: a treasure called "Liquid Gold”
🇧🇬 On 3 March, Bulgaria celebrates its national day.
🌹 Bulgaria is renowned for producing some of the world’s finest rose oil, a highly valuable product known as "liquid gold." Sourced from the Rosa Damascena rose in the picturesque Rose Valley, this oil is a key ingredient in luxury perfumes and skincare products. It takes over 3,500 kg of petals to make just 1 liter of oil! Every year, Bulgaria produces between 2 to 3.5 tons of this sought-after substance.
🌿 The rose farming tradition in Bulgaria stretches back centuries, with harvests carefully timed for optimal quality. The rose farming tradition in Bulgaria is deeply embedded in the country's heritage. The first rose oil factory in the region was established in 1820 in the town of Kazanlak, marking a significant milestone in the development of the industry.
Today, the process of harvesting rose oil is done with great care. Harvesting in the early morning is essential to get the highest quality oil, as the petals release the most fragrance at dawn. Workers carefully pick the petals, which are then distilled to make the oil.
However, climate change is affecting when the flowers bloom, causing harvests to happen earlier as spring becomes warmer. These changes bring both challenges and new possibilities for the farmers.
🎉 The Rose Valley also remains a vibrant cultural hub, celebrated annually during the Rose Festival in Kazanlak. This festival highlights Bulgaria’s rich history and significance in the rose oil industry, attracting visitors from around the world.
🇪🇺 Bulgaria joined the European Union on 1 January 2007.
