Buatong uses her trunk delicately to pick up the short fresh grass growing in the fields, thanks to the water we deviated from the river.

With the heat and the lack of rain the land is really dry now. 🌡️🍂
We hope the rain will come back soon to help regenerate nature around us. 🌧️🌱

🦟🪰How to avoid bugs bites?🪰🦟

Here are two different methods:

- Mae Lou broke a branch to use it as a fan/wisp to chase the horseflies that arrived with the hot weather.

- Buatong chose the usual method which consists of spraying dust/mud directly on her skin to create a protective barrier.

Once again Bai Boua has been chasing a dog. 🐘🐕

She informs her grandma with her little cries that there is an intruder.

Mae Lou comes to check and reassure her.

But wait up to 40 seconds and listen to how frustrated Bai Boua is that the dog is still around.😅

What we can't hear in the video is that as soon she screamed, her mother Buatong, who was already back home, replied.

The family is then seen rushing to get reunited.

💧Bath time for mom and daughter💧

Just after eating the medicine balls we prepare to help our elephants with their digestion (mix of bananas, tamarind, corn and salt) Buatong couldn't hold it and she pooped in her bath. 🫣
We don't mind, it means she has a good transit and it's a good thing.
Elephants digest only 60% of what they eat and they can have blocage, so a good transit is really important.
The mahouts clean the pool area everyday to keep the water clear.

Mae Lou is like a flower, beautiful and delicate. 🌸

At 67 years old, she's a precious soul, taking more time now for all her activities, walking, eating, bathing...
She seems serene and at the same time still alert when it comes to taking care of her adoptive granddaughter Bai Boua.

One glance at Mae Lou and you just can't help falling in love with her. 💕
