Happy 21 years old birthday of my daughter Yaya Nattaya at Koh Phangan.
Reunion with my mum in a dinner in a nice restaurant on the beach. Making 85 years old mama having tasty Ravioli but she said taste like a flip flop🤣 Offeredher a glass of nice wine but she said “I don’t want to break the 5 precepts “😵💫
So she end up chewing grilled chicken’s butt🤦♀️…
Next year we have a project together in “Manora” dance. A traditional spiritual dancing from Southern Thailand.
My mum is an old famous Manora dancer who was invited to performed on Koh Phangan when she was a young girl, ended up having 5 children here🥰
She has been a teacher either in a refined art college in and independent teacher wherever she stayed. A beautiful dancer and poetry writer and singing, Thai music instruments player and an other kind of performing art from old days…
My daughter who appreciates this beautiful art and started to practice with my mum when she was 14.
This year came Nattaya repractice again with many.
And I was started by having inspiration from my sister boss Kru Coocky Tassanee France to continue the art from my mom so I went to practiced the dance with her about 10 years ago!..
But I prefer to be a woman with balls 😆 so I skip the dance and run away from doing like I did when my family forced me to train since I was 7 years old.
Now, times fly… but intention is reborn…
Why not continue it from her as it’s a Family cultural heritage, from one generation to another…
The spirit of Manora dance is very strong but all spirit could be mild, light and shy to the the rest of the world as a complete exercise. A holistic way of approach this dance through body , mind and spirit 🙏
