ระหว่างวันที่ 25–27 มิถุนายนที่ผ่านมา ทีมงาน SBU-Suandok Bioinformatic Unit คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ได้ร่วมมือกับ ทีมMGRU นำโดย ดร.จีรวรรณ จัดงาน Workshop เชิงปฏิบัติการในหัวข้อ “การวิเคราะห์จีโนมในโรคหายาก” (Rare Disease Genome Analysis)

ซึ่งมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้และเทคนิคด้านชีวสารสนเทศ (Bioinformatics) ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจีโนมของผู้ป่วยโรคหายาก ซึ่งเป็นโรคที่มีความซับซ้อนในการวินิจฉัยและต้องอาศัยข้อมูลพันธุกรรมระดับลึกเพื่อระบุสาเหตุของโรค

ในงานนี้ ผู้เข้าร่วมได้เรียนรู้ตั้งแต่แนวคิดเบื้องต้นของการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจีโนม เทคนิคการจัดการข้อมูลลำดับดีเอ็นเอ (DNA sequencing data), การใช้ซอฟต์แวร์ทำ variant calling ตลอดจนการตีความผลลัพธ์ในเชิงคลินิก เพื่อให้สามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในงานวิจัยหรือการให้บริการด้านการแพทย์ได้

ณ ห้องประชุม Conference Room CMUTEAM ชั้น 9 ได้มีการปรึกษาหารือเกี่ยวกับการวิเคราะห์จีโนมในกลุ่มโรคหายาก จากผลการถอดรหัสพันธุกรรมทั้งจีโนม (Whole Genome Sequencing) ที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากโครงการจีโนมิกส์ประเทศไทย 50,000 รายในเฟสที่ 1 ซึ่งคณะได้ร่วมกันดำเนินการแปรผลจีโนม (Variant Interpretation and Classification) ของผู้ป่วยในโรงพยาบาลมหาราชนครเชียงใหม่ และจัดทำรายงานผลอย่างเป็นระบบ นำไปสู่การวินิจฉัยทางคลินิกที่ถูกต้องและแม่นยำ ซึ่งมีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อการวางแผนดูแลรักษาที่ตรงเป้าหมาย (Precision Medicine) อีกทั้งยังช่วยไขข้อสงสัยให้แก่ครอบครัวของผู้ป่วยถึงสาเหตุของโรคที่เกิดขึ้น พร้อมทั้งสามารถนำไปใช้ในการให้คำปรึกษาทางพันธุศาสตร์และการวางแผนครอบครัวในอนาคต

ทั้งนี้ เนื่องจากโรคหายากส่วนใหญ่มีสาเหตุมาจากความผิดปกติทางพันธุกรรม การได้รับการวินิจฉัยที่รวดเร็วและแม่นยำจากข้อมูลทางพันธุกรรมจึงมีบทบาทสำคัญอย่างยิ่งในการนำไปสู่การรักษาที่เหมาะสมและทันท่วงที ซึ่งส่งผลให้ผู้ป่วยมีโอกาสรอดชีวิตเพิ่มขึ้น และสามารถกลับมามีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีขึ้นได้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญ หลายกรณีพบว่า ผู้ป่วยที่เคยต้องพึ่งพาผู้ดูแลตลอดชีวิตสามารถกลับมาดำรงชีวิตได้อย่างเป็นปกติ และสามารถกลับเข้าสู่สังคมในฐานะกำลังสำคัญของครอบครัวและชุมชนได้อีกครั้ง และก้าวต่อไปพวกเราคือการเข้าร่วมโครงการจีโนมิกส์ประเทศไทยในเฟสที่ 2 อีก 200,000 ราย ซึ่งไม่ใช่แค่เพื่อผู้ป่วย แต่เพื่อประชาชนคนไทยที่จะได้รับประโยชน์อย่างเป็นรูปธรรมจากฐานข้อมูลจีโนมิกส์ต่อการเพิ่มคุณภาพของชีวิต🥰

Feel free to join our special seminar from Dr. Thapakorn Jaroentomeechai in title "Precise glycoengineering approach for functional glycomics"

Dr. Jaroentomeechai is a postdoctoral researcher at the Copenhagen Center for Glycomics, University of Copenhagen, where his research focuses on glycobiology, synthetic biology, and biotechnology. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Cornell University, working in the DeLisa Lab to pioneer a development of cell-free synthetic glycobiology. At the University of Copenhagen, his research focuses on applying precise genetic engineering approach for functional glycomics with the aim to gain insight into the blackbox within glycoscience and medicine. His research has been funded by European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) and NEYE foundation for cancer research.

🌟 We're Hiring: 2 Research Assistant Positions at Functional Genomic Unit (FGU) of CMUTEAM 🌟

The Functional Genomics Unit (FGU) at CMUTEAM, in collaboration with the Drosophila Center of Human Diseases and Drug Discovery (DHD), Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, is now recruiting 2 research assistants to join our growing team.

Our lab recently discovered a new molecular target involved in neurodegeneration. With strategic funding support of CMU, our next goal is to identify and validate novel chemical probes that can inhibit this specific target, with the potential to improve neurodegenerative outcomes.

As a research assistant, you will:
🔬 Conduct Drosophila-based experiments to test the effects of selected small compounds on various neurobehaviors
🧬 Prepare Drosophila samples for Omics studies, including nucleic acid, protein, and metabolite extraction
🧠 Work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and a multidisciplinary team in neuroscience, molecular genetics, and drug discovery

Who we’re looking for:
• Background in biological and/or chemical sciences
• Particularly relevant: biochemistry, molecular genetics, organic chemistry, or physiology
• Good command of English (spoken and written)

Position details:
📆 Duration: 1 year
💰 Salary: 20,000 THB/month
✨ Possibility to increase salary and/or extend the position based on experience and mutual interest
📍 Eligibility: Open to Thai nationals or foreigners who already hold a valid Thai Work Permit

เมื่อวันที่ 3 เมษายน 2568 ทาง CMUTEAM ได้จัดงานสัมมนา "SLRI Academic Visit at CMUTEAM" ณ อาคารเรียนและปฏิบัติการ 50 ปี คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ โดยในช่วงเช้าภายในวันและเวลาดังกล่าวกิจกรรมประกอบด้วยการเยี่ยมชมห้องปฏิบัติการวิจัย DHD ชั้น 4 และห้องปฎิบัติการวิจัย CMUEAM ชั้น 9

จากนั้นเวลา 10.00-12.00 น. สถาบันวิจัยแสงซินโครตรอน นำโดย ดร.แคทลียา โรจน์วิริยะ และทีมนักวิจัยให้การบรรยายพิเศษแก่ผู้เข้าร่วมฟัง ณ ห้องประชุม Conference Room CMUTEAM โดยการบรรยายประกอบด้วย 6 หัวข้อได้แก่
