This conference focuses on discussing the current dengue situation, defining targets for disease control, and exploring various approaches to achieve these goals. It also facilitates the exchange of ideas among academics, government agencies, and industry sectors to foster collaboration in addressing dengue issues regionally and globally.

🇺🇸 SUNY-KPPH Medical Exchange – Second Cohort of 2025:
A Journey of Learning and Global Connections 💙

We are thrilled to warmly welcome the second cohort of 2025 from SUNY Upstate Medical University — Ms. Ruchika Kilaparty and Ms. Maya Lautenberg — who participated in the Medical Student Clinical and Research Observership at Kamphaeng Phet Hospital from June 23rd to July 18th, 2025.

Throughout this immersive 4-week program, the students experienced a unique blend of multidisciplinary clinical care observation, an insightful exploration of Thailand’s healthcare system, intensive fieldwork, community visits, and vibrant cultural activities that enriched their understanding and appreciation of global health.

The project was led by Dr. Stephen Thomas, MD, and Ms. Tina Campagna from SUNY Upstate Medical University, with strong support from Kamphaeng Phet Hospital under the leadership of Director Dr. Angkana Uppapong, Project Director Dr. Chinanat Phuangsaichai, Deputy Project Director Dr. Soontorn Pinpiboon, and the dedicated coordination by Dr. Darunee Buddhari, Head of the Kamphaeng Phet-AFRIMS Virology Research Unit (KAVRU), alongside all hospital staff.

🇹🇭 โครงการนักศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยนแพทย์ SUNY-KPPH รุ่นที่ 2 ประจำปี 2568 💙
ขอต้อนรับนักศึกษาแพทย์รุ่นที่ 2 ประจำปี 2025 จาก SUNY Upstate Medical University — Ms. Ruchika Kilaparty and Ms. Maya Lautenberg — ที่ได้เข้าร่วมโครงการ Medical Student Clinical and Research Observership ณ โรงพยาบาลกำแพงเพชร ระหว่างวันที่ 23 มิถุนายน ถึง 18 กรกฎาคม 2568

🇺🇸 SUNY-KPPH Medical Exchange – First Cohort of 2025 💙

We are delighted to welcome the first cohort of 2025 from SUNY Upstate Medical University —
Mr. Eric Choi and Ms. Bhumika Devkota —
who participated in the Medical Student Clinical and Research Observership at Kamphaeng Phet Hospital from May 24th to June 21st, 2025.

Over the 4-week program, they observed multidisciplinary clinical care, explored Thailand’s healthcare system, conducted fieldwork, visited communities, and engaged in rich cultural experiences.

The project was led by director Dr. Stephen Thomas, MD, and Ms. Tina Campagna from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Special thanks go to Kamphaeng Phet Hospital, under the leadership of Director Dr.Angkana Uppapong, Project Director Dr. Chinanat Phuangsaichai, and Deputy Project Director Dr. Soontorn Pinpiboon, as well as the coordination efforts of Dr. Darunee Buddhari, Head of the Kamphaeng Phet-AFRIMS Virology Research Unit (KAVRU), and all staff members of Kamphaeng Phet Hospital, whose contributions ensured the successful completion of this project.

From January 27-29, 2025, Dr. Chinanat Puangsaichai, Project Director, and Dr. Darunee Buddhari, Head of the Kamphaeng Phet-AFRIMS Virology Research Unit (KAVRU), warmly welcomed a delegation from Upstate Medical University. The delegation included Dr. Stephen Thomas, MD, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology; Dr. Frank Middleton, Professor of Neuroscience and Physiology; and Lisa Ware, RAC Director of Regulatory Affairs. The visit focused on the collaborative Medical Education and Research project between KPPH and SUNY Upstate Medical University, and fostered a positive and collaborative atmosphere among the research teams and staff. 💙

Thai Representatives Attend the 73rd Annual Meeting of American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene: ASTMH 2024
Led by Dr. Darunee Buddhari, Head of the Kamphaeng Phet-AFRIMS Virology Research Unit (KAVRU), and Dr. Soontorn Pinpiboon from Kamphaeng Phet Hospital, Thai representatives participated in the ASTMH 2024 Annual Meeting held at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, from November 13th to 17th.

The meeting brought together over 4,000 attendees from more than 100 countries to share insights on a wide range of topics, from basic science to program operations. Special sessions focused on Marburg virus in Rwanda/pandemic response and avian influenza H5N1. The exhibit hall featured organizations supporting tropical medicine.

ตัวแทนจากประเทศไทยเข้าร่วมการประชุมประจำปีครั้งที่ 73 ของสมาคมเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อนและอนามัยแห่งอเมริกา: การประชุมประจำปีของ ASTMH ปี พ.ศ.2567 นำโดยดรุณี พุทธารี, หัวหน้าหน่วยวิจัยไวรัสของ KAVRU และ ดร.สุนทร ปิ่นไพบูลย์ จากโรงพยาบาลกำแพงเพชร ตัวแทนจากประเทศไทยได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมประจำปีของสมาคมเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อนและอนามัยแห่งอเมริกา (ASTMH) ประจำปีพ.ศ.2567 ซึ่งจัดขึ้นที่ศูนย์การประชุม Ernest N.Morial ในเมืองนิวออร์ลีนส์ รัฐลุยเซียนา สหรัฐอเมริกา ตั้งแต่วันที่13 ถึง17 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2567

การประชุมครั้งนี้รวบรวมผู้เข้าร่วมกว่า 4,000 คน จากมากกว่า 100 ประเทศทั่วโลก เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ในหัวข้อต่างๆ ตั้งแต่ระดับวิทยาศาสตร์พื้นฐานไปจนถึงการดำเนินโครงการ มีการจัดสัมมนาพิเศษเกี่ยวกับไวรัสมาร์บวร์กในรวันดา/การตอบสนองต่อโรคระบาดใหญ่ และไข้หวัดนก H5N1 มีองค์กรและบริษัทที่สนับสนุนเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อนมาแสดงผลงาน
