꩜ It’s common to feel tired but wired — your body exhausted, but your mind refusing to slow down.
꩜ In Chinese Medicine, we understand this by recognising that insomnia and overthinking arise from an imbalance between the Spleen, Liver, and Kidney systems.
When the Spleen becomes weak from worry or overwork, the mind becomes unsettled and the body forgets how to rest.
꩜ In Thai Yoga, we see this as energy trapped in the upper body — the nervous system can’t release because the grounding channels through the legs are blocked.
꩜ To calm your nervous system and invite deeper sleep, try this simple acupressure sequence before bed:
Sit comfortably and place four fingers above your inner ankle bone, just behind the shin bone — you’ll feel a small hollow.
This is Spleen 6 (SP6), known as The Three Yin Intersection.
Press gently for 1–2 minutes as you breathe slowly, letting the exhale melt the tension from your body.
꩜ This point harmonises the Spleen, Liver, and Kidney — regulating hormones, easing emotional stress, and nourishing Yin, the cooling energy that allows your body to truly rest.
In the Joint Dialogue Method, you learn how to communicate the benefits of Meridians, Anatomy Trains, and Sen Lines in an easy and approachable way — both for your own practice and for your students or clients.
Have you noticed how your mind races most when your body feels tight or your legs restless at night?
This is your body asking for grounding.
Touch it. Breathe with it.
And let rest come naturally. 🌙
Sweet dreams and calm energy,
Gabe
