After the splashes and celebrations, many of you might be feeling some discomfort in your ears—whether it’s a muffled sensation, itching, or a sharp ache. Water trapped in the ear canal can lead to more issues than you might realize!

3 Common Post-Songkran Ear Problems to Watch For:
1️⃣ Swimmer’s Ear (Otitis Externa): Trapped water creates a breeding ground for bacteria. You may feel pain when touching or pulling your earlobe.
2️⃣ Impacted Earwax: Water can cause existing earwax to swell and expand, leading to sudden hearing loss or a "clogged" feeling.
3️⃣ Infection from Contaminated Water: Dirty water or powder (powder water) trapped inside can lead to painful infections or discharge.

✅ What to do if water gets in your ear:
Tilt your head to the side and let the water drain out naturally.
Use a clean cloth to gently pat the outer ear canal only.

❌ DO NOT: Use cotton swabs (Q-tips) to dig deep into your ear. This can scratch the ear canal and push bacteria further inside, worsening the infection.

🚨 When should you see a doctor?
✅If you experience severe pain that interferes with your sleep.
✅If your ears remain clogged for more than 2 days.
