To all my friends around London next 10th, I’ll be in town for just a few hours and encourage y’all who know me to come say Hello and have a hug, possibly over Pizza 🍕 lunch.
I’ll be at Pizza Express, at The Pheasantry on Kings Road (nearest Tube, Sloan Square) from 12.30 until 4pm the latest.
Please please please do pop in and share a few laughs with me. I’m not going to start tagging people as I’m sure I’ll forget people or folks i care about may get offended thinking i don’t care about them.
I genuinely would love to see as many of you as possible, wherever we know each other from and whichever shared memories we have.
And btw, I’ll be celebrating turning 53 years young, but please don’t bring me any gifts as i don’t have any space in my luggage.
I’ll be sharing this post a few times to reach as many of you as possible.
Love and hugs and i sincerely hope to see as many of you as possible as this is my trip time back to UK in 18 months and I’ve no plans to return again (well maybe for Glastonbury The Common briefly). 🧡

So, I'm letting the cat out of the bag here now.
Later this month, I'll be travelling to visit Holina Youth Village in Cyprus, Holina Rehab Israel and also going to a little further, alongside Yossef Zubari to begin configuring the latest venture for us - Holina Wellness in Greece !!!
I'll also be delivering Sober Academy's signature Training in Israel for the first time by invitation of Dr. Aviva Wolf and her Hospital.
But then I'm coming to London, to revive my connection and relationships with all those in our industry of & at my friend, the wonderful Lee FitzGerald's 14th Annual Workshop (link in comments), where I used to MC but this time will have a smaller role introducing the event on Thursday 7th November and reminiscing about the history and growth of our sector over the past 20+ years.
I absolutely want to encourage all of my friends and colleagues who are able to attend this year's workshop to make the effort, especially if you've never been before. It really is filled with key people from our industry and it's a fellowship of its own.
Meanwhile, if you've read this far, I ought to let y'all know that on Sunday 10th November, I'll be choosing a venue in London and inviting everyone that wants to see me to come and meet me for lunch and stay the afternoon. It seems the easier, softer, option - rather than me trying to meet up with hundreds of you, invite as many of my friends as possible to come and see me, meet my other friends and make new ones.
I'll be announcing a central London location soon - I'm searching for somewhere that can have 20 to 50 people pass through the afternoon, and serves a great buffet Sunday roast, so if you know somewhere suitable let me know. (no other dates are available as I return to Koh Phangan on the Tuesday 12th, and will spend Monday 11th with family, also if Samantha or David want me to be of service Monday evening, I'd love some CA Fellowship together).
I'll keep updating things here via FB from time to time, but do message me privately with ideas or questions.
love to y'all,
Ian

"A bore is a person who opens his mouth and puts his feats in it." ~ Henry Ford
Ian Young is a man who wears many hats but no masks, who uses his experiences to see how he can benefit others, be that through business or in a personal capacity, he’s always happy to help.
Ian has over 15 years as an Addiction Consultant (since 2003), successfully touching the lives of thousands of addicted people and their families, showing them a new way to live and encouraging them to rebuild their lives without their destructive patterns or influences once and for all.
But it wasn’t always like that… Early 2001, aged 29, after 13 years of chronic drug addiction, alcoholism, homelessness, unemployment (well, at least lacking any desire for any kind of legal employment) and living as an Outlaw, he discovered a permanent way out of his debilitating lifestyle and through hard work and a strong vision. Ian rebuilt himself a new world filled with the riches and royalties that life has to offer – addiction free! In fact, Ian is often heard talking about his quality of life being beyond anything he could possibly have dreamed off previously.
Ian was the founder of two large rehabilitation facilities back in the UK in 2004 and 2006 respectively and has delivered consultancy to many others around the world.
He has recently opened a brand-new treatment centre in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand, called The River Rehab, aimed at the International market of those seeking a 5* luxury facility at affordable prices. Ian is the Treatment Director and thrilled to be back in the driving seat of a busy and active treatment facility.
His company Sober Services(since 2008) offers bespoke packages of treatment to individuals and their families ravaged by addiction, typically revolving around two primary services – 1) Interventions and helping families assist their loved ones or colleagues into treatment, and 2) Sober Companions / Recovery Coaches, working intensely with individuals to bring about positive change in their addictions and their lifestyles.
Ian is an outstanding and charismatic speaker, very comfortable presenting and solving problems from the stage. It is his natural skill of engaging both large and small audiences that has taught Ian to exploit his organic talent of being a positive influence over individuals, for whom any encounter is both up lifting and thought shifting. Ian’s style is dynamic, inspiring and enthusiastic.
Because of his skills as a Trainer (certified by Blair Singer in 2010 as a Trainer’s Trainer), along with his collaborator Janique Svedberg they launched Sober-Academy in 2015 to support others wishing to work intensely within the professional addiction treatment industry. Their two signature programmes are “Certified Sober Interventions” and “Certified Recovery Coaching” for Sober Companions, with “Sober Practitioner” being rolled out in 2019. They have delivered trainings in UK, Holland, Sweden, Italy and Russia, with Ireland scheduled in November 2018, and Australia, Thailand, Spain and Denmark scheduled for 2019.
Ian is one of 7 Founding members and the first Chair of EARS – European Association of Recovery Specialists, for Interventionists & Sober Coaches, which was birthed in November 2017, offering collaboration and support amongst its pan European (and beyond) members.
Ian is a published author of his brilliantly reviewed autobiography “It’s Not About Me! – Confessions of a Recovered Outlaw Addict, from Living Hell to Living Big”. This is an easy to read page turner, telling Ian’s full story going into the depths of his own addictions whilst maintaining his world traveller adventurer status as a means to DJ globally, traffic and smuggle drugs and attempt to ensure the party never ended. It offers a candid description of the difficulties and challenges he faced trying to clean himself up and most importantly the practical and spiritual lessons he’s learned through his many years helping others remain drug and alcohol free and turning his attentions to the welfare of others (hence the title).
Ian is both honoured and proud to be one of 35 founding members (2012) of the The Network for Transformational Leaders (formally the ATL - Association of Transformation Leaders), qualification for membership of which involves positively affecting the lives of over 6000 people. This group meets bi-annually somewhere around the world to exchange best practice and support one another’s endeavours to co-create a better planet for everyone of its residents.
His charismatic and intelligent approach to business and projects alike brings a truly exceptional edge to all those fortunate enough to work alongside him and experience his energy, humour and passion. With his background and his understanding of the psychology of the human condition, Ian makes a unique addition to the human gene pool.
Ian’s personal mission is to co-create a green and harmonious world, through laughter and love, bringing a better quality of life to all who cross his path and beyond.
