Dear world wide Inner Walk family,

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the news of our dear Phra Olarn's passing.

Phra Olarn was an incredible teacher, mentor, and friend to the Inner Walk team, to Wonderland, to Wat Samai Kongka temple, to the wider Koh Phangan family, and to the many thousands of lives he touched through his work.

He was a gift to us all, and his legacy will live on in the hearts that he touched and all those they will meet along the way.

We continue to walk in his honor, and are blessed to carry on his meaningful purpose.
We invite you to share your thoughts, feelings, and memories of Phra Olarn here.

Happy International !

It's April 4th - a wonderful reminder of the powerful 4 hours/4 day journey you all completed!

As you know, your awareness is a muscle. Which means that, like any other muscle, if we don't continue to work it, it will lose its strength and abilities. The 4 day retreat is like a boot camp, but if we don't continue to train, our awareness will not be available to us. We don't need to train as intensively, but finding the right and balanced way for yourself to continue to practice will drastically improve your quality of life over time. Whether its a half hour every other morning, an hour once a week, or whatever works for you!

We invite you to celebrate Inner Walk Day by heading out to practice, no matter how long it's been.

And don't forget to enjoy!

4 Day Inner Walk Journey

Inner Walk is a profound self-development practice that allows you to learn about yourself and your daily life experience, and helps you gain the right tools to overcome life’s challenges. By learning how to observe your inner experience objectively, you can begin to understand yourself better, and gain freedom from your thoughts and emotions.

We are back from our winter break! Our next 4 day retreat will take place this week, from Monday to Thursday, February 26-29, from 12:00 - 18:00 at the Inner Walk Center (see map below). We begin with a short dharma talk, then 4 hours of practice, and end with a group sharing circle.

To guarantee your spot, sign up through our website www.innerwalk.org. We are currently running our retreats every week, so the next retreat will be March 4-7.

All Inner Walk events are *free of charge*. Donations are always welcome, as we are a non-profit volunteer based organization.
If you have any questions or want to stay up to date, please feel free to contact us and follow us.

What is Inner Walk?

And how was Inner Walk born?

Phra Olarn is a Buddhist monk from the island of Koh Phangan. Four years ago he founded a practice to fulfill the vision of raising people’s quality of life. He understood 2 main principles:

  • The first was that people have a tendency to run away from themselves. Western culture is a highly pressured rat race, with people running from one activity to the next, spending virtually no time alone in silence with themselves and their thoughts (think that even on commutes, at the gym, or on the toilet, people use their phones to kill the time). And even people who have embarked on a spiritual path, or have a regular meditation or yoga practice have a tendency to use these practices as a way to “quiet the noise”, or turn away from all the circumstances of their lives.

  • Secondly, he understood that the only way for a person to truly learn and integrate anything is by teaching themselves. To be our own masters. No amount of intellectual learning (books, lectures, YouTube videos, or even teachers) can have the same impact as experiential learning, or learning by doing, feeling, and seeing for ourselves. Additionally, he noticed that people (particularly from the West) find it very difficult to sit in stillness for 8-10 hours a day during something like Vipassana meditation.
