Mikao Usui, after a 21-day retreat on Mount Kurama (a practice known as Shyu-Gyo), received the foundational teachings of Reiki through an enlightenment experience (satori). When I learned Reiki in Japan, I also went to Mount Kurama, following the path of this sacred tradition.💫🙏🤲

The hardest lesson for a kind soul is learning when to stop knocking on doors that won’t open.
I’ve always seen the light in people… but I had to accept that not everyone wants to be discovered. It’s heavy, carrying hope for someone who refuses to believe in themselves. We drain our energy trying to be a lighthouse for those who choose the dark, convincing ourselves that if we love more, explain better, or shine brighter, they’ll finally see.
But you can’t rescue someone who is attached to their own chains. Compassion without boundaries slowly destroys you. Respect their path enough to let them stay lost if that’s what they choose. Your light belongs to those searching for the shore — not to those who feel at home in the storm.
I was simply made this way. ❤️🙌
